these cats, especially this one, remind me a whole lot of the first bioshock game 0: the design looks a lot like rapture.

also is it just me or do the horses look like they're straight out of studio ghibli films? i can see ponyo and castle in the sky & kiki's delivery service so far.

I think I've asked this thrice now, and nobody seems to have an answer. Do the sore dogs have a theme or not? Please, please let me know because I always name my pets after their themes if I can't think of names myself and I can't think of names for this litter. Thanks!!

Because nobody else (except maybe someone else from the staff) can tell for sure. Many people say elemental dragons, but I don't really think that they are elemental-based. I think that they are just to represent dragon/serpent kins with looks the artist liked. I don't think that they are 100% based on anything, maybe they are based on asian dragons (that's what they slightly look like to me), but I don't know and I'm sure no other normal user really knows

Saikyo, are those little Store Pet beauties inspired by "Spyro: A New Beginning?"

Funny story. I'm actually bitter about any Spyro game that's not on the PS1 or Gameboy Advanced XD (Spyro was my childhood and look at Skylanders ;u; *laughter that turns into sobbing*)

oh wow! the horses these months are so intricate, they must have taken absolutely hours to make. oh myyyy <3 <3 <3 it's a shame I'm not a fan / don't enjoy / am not obsessed at all with any of these films, or anything like them in general >u<

Hours? Nah, months.

The first horse I painted was the Nausicäa one(I actually started working on it the month after the Ghibli ponies were released), and it was so hard to make I had to take a break from this litter for about 2 months from how sore my wrist had become... you will see why once that foal grows up. Afterwards I worked on Kiki's Delivery Service and it was PAIN because I had no idea how to properly portray the movie in that design. I was stuck on that horse forever and it was mainly thanks to it I took so long to develop this litter.

Ponyo was a bit hard too, but I only took a few days, while I managed to pixel-paint the Laputa horse in less than 24 hours due to a huge intake of inspiration XD. Same thing with The Wind Rises.

We are quickly approaching another months end. I am always excited to see what the last pet turns into. This months pets have been exceptional! The pups that started out black and white were my biggest surprise.
Lilian, your horses are amazing but I think we are all getting spoiled by your awesome designs! There is no way you can go back to designing "normal" horses now! Thank you for all the lovely pets! All of you are awesome!
