Daria peeked her head in the wolf nursery, as her new master called it. She saw a lot of pups like her, but one caught her attention. He was a dark shade, like chocolate, and beautiful patterns were on his body. His eyes were dark and lonely.
"Why is he looking so sad?" Daria asked a dog similar to her.
"Our sister left us as you came. She was sent to another owner." The pup replied.
Daria nodded a thanks and went to him. "Hello" She said shyly. The dog, Namius quickly mumbled something.
"My n-name's Daria" Daria presented herself.
The chocolate dog quickly scribbled on the ground his name, Namius, rose and leave. Why did he hate her so much? How was it possible to despise a person so much?
Namius retreated in a dark corner, and watched Daria. Just like he was going to rip her to shreds in any second. In time, a crowd has gathered near Namius.
"Why do you hate her so much?"
"Stop being a jerk!"
"Talk, you runt"
That was the last drop. Namius released his built anger and bit his look-alike friend, Neri by the neck and ran. Daria could see his eyes were sad, but he wasn't allowed to shed a tear. The husky glared daggers at Neri and ran after Namius.
"What do you want now?" Namius growled.
"I want to say...sorry. Sorry for coming here. Sorry for existing. Sorry for anything I did to make you upset" Daria apologized, for nothing in particular.
Namius growled and mumbled 'Leave'.
"Why did you come here anyway? I'm probably in your eyes a cold runt that knows only how to make others sad" The chocolate dog said.
"It's not true! I love y-"
Daria covered her mouth. Namius stared at her, his eyes having a mix of confused and shock. Daria turned, and ran from the wolf nursery to the pets without a group, and proceeded to tell everything to Haiko while shedding many tears.
Namius was thinking at what she said earlier. Apologizing for existing? Silly. After coming to replace his sister and only friend, she proceeded to make other hate him. He couldn't forgive her. No. Never. Not in a million years!
She ruined his self-control, and took from him what he valued the most. How c-could she.....she....
Namius started crying, but hid his tears.
Daria knew Namius wouldn't ever love her. She felt empty. Will she able to live cheerfully from now on?

Speaking of, I guess now would be a good time to introduce you all to...
Nesct {♂} //Al Capone {♂}\\ Rekoj {♂}
---
-These are not the three guys I was talking about a few weeks ago, but they're still pretty fun characters. :3-
---
Nesct is Al's bodyguard, and partial founder of The Iron Sword, a disreputable bar like any other in Aether, where Al Capone founded the poker club, Court of Hearts. The club is hidden underneath the bar, and the only entrance is through a secret passage behind the counter.
But we'll come back to the club, and Nesct, in a moment.
---
Al Capone- who was called Andrew Roth at the time- was a regular customer to the bar many years ago. He claimed to like the atmosphere, which was, as far as anyone could tell, composed of cigar smoke and cheap booze; and that he liked the low prices.
Which was true enough, though the bar down the street claims to have lower ones.
Truth be told, what Andrew was really interested in was Rekoj; a strangely-dressed man who came to the bar every night to entertain the drunken masses, and drain their wallets dry with his exceptional card-playing skills. Andrew was a professional card player, himself, and took a great interest in the man for his odd tactics. One night he stuck a deal with the Rekoj, claiming that;
"If you can beat me at poker, I'll let you in on a secret that could make you millions."
Naturally, the strange man accepted the offer, and the game was on. It was several hours later that, from inside the crowd of drunken patrons surrounding the table, a loud "whoop!" was heard. The "whoop!" had come from Rekoj, who emerged victorious. But Andrew was not discouraged, for he smiled and slipped a torn off piece of paper to Rekoj when they shook hands.
On the paper where instructions to meet Andrew somewhere downtown for a secret meeting, mentioning fame and fortune.
Being a poor man of little fame, Rekoj pushed aside his uneasiness and went that very night.
It was several weeks before either one of the men where seen again, and Nesct was beginning to wonder what had happened to his favorite customer. Nesct worked as a bartender, at the time, and he always had a secret fondness for Andrew Roth. The man was of odd appearance, golden hair always pulled back into a tight ponytail, light completion, lithe frame; a direct contrast with Nesct's own dark hair and skin. He was by no means a small man, either, which he credits his athletic nature for. Nesct often scared his customers away; but if only they knew the man's kind nature, like Andrew did, he would hardly have the reputation that he does now.
But as the dark man sat, lost in his thoughts about the mysterious disappearance of Andrew Roth {and Rekoj}, the bell above the door rang. There the subject{s} of his idle thoughts entered, arm-in-arm, chatting wildly and laughing in good spirits. Andrew looked much different now. Nesct was a little jealous of their obvious affection towards one another, but when Andrew plopped down on his favorite bar stool and grinned brightly at the bartender, all thoughts of jealousy escaped his mind.
"Hey, I've got a favor to ask..."
---
Almost two months later, the Court of Hearts poker club was up and running; Andrew changed his name to something much more stylish- "Al Capone"- and hired Nesct as his part-time bodyguard.
Rekoj and his rag-tag team of misfits- formidable card sharks that he picked up though various means- each had their own personal tables, where the more foolish, overconfident of costumers could challenge them. If the lucky patron where to beat all four of Rekoj's underlings, they could either challenge Rekoj himself, or Al; who's skills have greatly surpassed Rekoj's over time, and is now regarded as "The King of Hearts".
Al and Rekoj are reportedly in a serious relationship, but they really seem to be just fooling around most of the time; which gives Nesct a tiny bit of hope that he can win over The King's affections. Al's habit of flirting with every formidable opponent always presses on his last nerve, though, and he often wonders if the man isn't worth his time after all. But Al's brilliant smile and seemingly-true affections towards his bodyguard always win him over again.
Ah, love, how blind you make a man.
---
Is it weird that I got the inspiration for that from Pokemon? |D;;;
Al is so mean, leading people on like that. But it's in his nature. He really does like Nesct, though, he just has no idea how to show him that. So he sticks to teasing, and flirting, and hoping that one day he'll realize that he likes him, too.
Rekoj is Al's best friend; and though they do have a healthy, on-going relationship, it's obvious to the both of them that their true affections lie elsewhere. Though Rekoj's hidden object of affection remains a mystery. He remains loyal to Al Capone as a dear friend and trusted business partner, however. :3
