So something interesting a friend and I found out is that there was an item that was given by Tess that is the same item as the item in the store except the name is different.



October '09

Name in the archive is "!!!" which is the one that users got from Tess (my friend got her's from Tess and I have no idea where mine came from other than I must have traded for it or was gifted it) while the one in the store is called "Squid hat 8D". So they are the same; yet not the same item.

I think "!!!" is just the title it's given and "Squid hat 8D" is just like an excited description. I had the "!!!", so when you mentioned it was different (literally just now), I bought another. Now I have two "!!!"

Well, since this was before squids came out (and Tess always liked squids) and it was just a few species, my best guess is that the title was meant to be a sort of hype/excitement like "oooh look a squid hat isn't it so cool/different/new?!" to describe the item (pushed by the fact that the title literally has a super happy face in it: 8D). It reflects in the archive's name of "!!!" So I think it was meant to be an intentional to make it seem really exciting (and/or Tess was just excited herself lol) as opposed to being an accident or just looked over. Or maybe it was on purpose at first and someone forgot to change it to a correct title?
