Only afterwards do I begin to feel sorry for them. If folks really are growing up with that level of self-entitlement, life is bound to be a long, hard series of bitter disappointments.

Yes, how dare us older members have old pets, and how dare we have more than one of them. Obviously they're there to give to random people that ask for them. We aren't saving them to get ourselves those last few pets are we?
Thing is, I just found out the person that sent that trade is a sophomore, I'm guessing 15-17 yo, so they should know better. I mean you don't wander into a shop and ask for free groceries or clothes because you're new in town. Or do you?
I'm not sure I feel sorry for them, nine times out of ten they're probably spoiled rich kids that get everything handed to them on a silver platter from Mummy or Daddy else they throw a tantrum because they couldn't get it. I could be wrong, but gee so many around here, and other places, do expect something for nothing. If any one is to blame, it's the parents. As you said, they're life is going to be a long series of disappointment.
I had an adoption center for while. Needless to say after similar things like that trade, I was over it. In the year I've been here, I've never once had someone give me a pet for nothing, unless it was a friend. Boy it would be nice, but it will never happen. ~laughs~
While my message may have come across rude to them, even though they amazed me, I'll give them credit for being polite and not using chat speak.

Yeppers, that's a clear eyed galaxy, and my extra balloon dog, hermine. I had a gear back in there once upon a time, but one person kept asking for it sending one or two free items 6-7 different times, only person I've ever had to foe. They're to help get the last two pets I want, the pointy eared sun and the non-coon. Yeh right, but still, we gotta have dreams. ^^
Being their age they really should know better. And thought, sometimes I think people wouldn't know a thought if they fell over one in the street.
