The original trade is unfair to you, but that doesn't mean someone thinks you're really dumb, they just may know know their rarities very well.
But the Blue Toxic is worth more than a Yellow Sorbet and a Blood Dog.
The Blue Toxic is equal to a Sorbet+Red Rose (or Balloon Dog, according to the Guide, which confuses me sometimes, as the Balloon Dog and Red Rose are on different lists. o_o')
So the Blood Dog is definitely not enough.
