As 2024 is coming to the end in just a few days - I would like to know what was your biggest achievement this year
and how did the holiday trading help yours hoards! (^-^)

I literally have not had a single big achievement this year, I haven't been able to trade for anything I am missing (most of what I am missing is 2008/2009, UR, missed store pets, and a few random rares). This year has really sucked outside of CS so I was not super active and didn't have anything that I really wanted to hoard - except for these two:

And this cutie from the end of 2023 - a really frustrating one to try to find. ^^, Even with littermate swaps its basically a nah. 😭


I have not officially started hoarding them because they're kind of discouraging to find 🤣 But what I have done instead - I have a mass amount of dupes (over 5000). And most of them are not worth much and I think people don't want to offer for stuff they are missing if they don't have something on my wishlist. So I decided to go through the archive and add random pets from my hoards or just pets I want to potentially hoard. Also staff pets, I'm always casually trading for staff pets for no reason. So I added a ton of stuff to my wishlist so hopefully I can get some of my extras to new homes besides the ones I give away. So my goal for the new year is to get rid of a lot of these excess pets that are not hoards, and just collect more doubles of pets I like but I would also like to fall in love with a pet that would be easy to hoard.

And the holidays have not helped with trading - other than holibombing (both ways!). I got some items I was missing, some pets I missed this year, and some staff pets to throw in my mega staff hoard. xD I love gifting - but I'm particular I like gifting people things off their wishlist, species they like or if they say natural pets I try to do a theme. I love gifting something I know they'll really like - and I was able to get rid of a lot of pets that would otherwise just be chilling in my trade folder.

This year just overall has been a mess, especially the tail end my grandpa suddenly got rapid onset dementia. Actually ended up back in the hospital tonight after he was trying to get up and fell into his tv stand in his room (he is okay, broken rib). Also a couple months of my cat having emergencies and hospitalizations (urinary blockages). He's doing well now too. That's a bit tmi haha but the year has just been something else. On the bright side I just got a new job after layoffs so maybe things are looking up. I'm so ready for the new year it has to be better than 2024 🫠

{ ah it sounds like a lot of us really didn't do much here this year-- 2024 has been so weird, huh? I did finish this pretty little one page hoard! this design made me think of Rainbow Road from Mario Kart Wii, my favorite track of all time, and I just had to have a few of them, I only need to go through and name them now :] but otherwise I haven't been active here really so, not much excitement for me either. ♡


{ my Hoarder SS absolutely spoiled me though, and one of my longtime friends as well for Christmas, so I am ending the year with an extra almost 2k rats !! this community really means so much to me, no matter how long I'm away people still remember me and my rats. ♡

honestly i too feel like i didnt do much!! <:0 however one of my biggest accomplishments came about this year- reaching not just my initial goal of 3000 otters, but a whopping 4000+ otters in my hoard!!! thats insaaaaane! most of it is thanks to user Veneti as they contributed a lil over 1k of the otters for my hoarder secret santa this year and i couldnt be thankful enough :3 lets get more otters next year!!

I have (will have, yet to move them) 147 Macaws for my Meet the Flockers group. Due to participating in Hoarders Secret Santa, some are gifts and my own, but my Secret Santa did a brilliant job in collecting/trading.

I decided on this hoard to represent the birds I have and have had over time. At 147 it makes it my largest hoard.

There's been a few temptations this Advent too.

My biggest achievement is finally organizing my hoards, they are now separated from my collection groups when last year everything was all mixed up together. I also organized my hoards my species and my favorite litters. (Before I had literally thousands of hoard pets all in one group that needed to be organized.)
My biggest achievement of an actual hoard was my first rare hoard during the summer event!!

I got to 750 guinea pigs from the 2023 summer event!! It’s my largest hoard. It’s less than my planned goal of 1,000 but I haven’t been trading very actively for it lately. I also decided I’m going to cap it at 2,000.

I didn’t get very much help with my hoards from holiday trading because I still haven’t participated in the hoarder secret santa or the holibombs. I don’t have very many fodder pets so I’m worried I would just disappoint whoever I would gift so I am waiting another year, maybe next year I will feel like I have enough fodder? Or maybe these gifting events just aren’t for me.
But I have been trading a lot for my 12 days of Christmas otter hoard this month, it’s been a while since I’ve actively traded for hoards besides just the free adoptions.

i haven’t participated in very much holiday trading this year as i had some obligations elsewhere (:

but i think my biggest achievement this year was definitely hitting 200k cats . i’m pretty sure at one point early in the year it was a goal of 150k , so i smashed that out the park ! and i also hit 1k sitting cats too , which was another end of year goal for me .

i think another one is also that i have actually opened myself up to hoarding rare+ ! although i don’t focus on these as much , they’re still some fun little projects to look forwards to (:

I read almost every post here, but somehow always forget to write something myself. T_T Oh well.

Grats everybody to reaching your hoard goals and hitting new milestones! Especially the large hoards with several thousand pets are always so cool to look at! Great job, everyone!! =)

It all blends together for me, since I mostly have my mini hoards, but I started 131 hoards in 2023 and 113 new hoards this year! =) (note for myself: my first 2024 hoard was #1829 and I'm at #1942 now)

my biggest achievement this year has been completing these two hoards - they were by far the most difficult ones to find, so it's super satisfying to see them complete!

i've also made good progress on my favourite hoard, a year ago today i had 300 of them, and now i am just short of 700! these cats are my favourite designs on the site, and now that i've completed the rest of my long term hoards i can focus my trading efforts on them! i've gotten bored with trading for a lot of my other unlimited hoards but i don't see myself ever getting sick of looking for these haha

i updated my hoard thread yesterday to prepare for 2025 and i've added a total of 51 new hoards this year! which is less than last year (61) but i've done so much more checkerboard hoards than ever before. they are fun but quite time-consuming, especially if there's more than 2 different outcomes involved. XD
