Well, it isn't cute and fluffy like most everything else here, but I didn't have anywhere else to use this. It's mainly just me trying to get inside Silver's head... not that he's all that much of a good person.
Lyrics are from Make Damn Sure -- Taking Back Sunday

&&& He kept her in the back room, like some people kept dogs. In his oh so high opinion it was the kinder fate; This way he wouldn't have to kill her, like he had Resa, but he'd still be able to keep his little secret and his own life too.
It wasn't entirely unbearable either, having to share his own personal space, which had been guarded jealously until now. Piper was pretty, not beautiful like Resa and not something to lust after like the one before Resa. Piper was the type that brought to mind china dolls and other trinkets one set on the shelf to look at over and over again. Too fragile to do anything with, but certainly brought enough enjoyment by just being there and in his possession.
In fact, she was perfect, not just by the way she looked, and that was the problem. Piper was nice. Piper worried about people other than herself, she acted upon that feeling no matter what it might cost her – the most recent case being her imprisonment in his back room – and no matter what he did to her she still had that little glitter in her eyes that meant she was still hoping. The concept was entirely foreign to a man like him. And he couldn't have it.

&&& She lay at the very edge of the bed, like she had expected him to come back that night. The look on her face wasn't worried that he would come back to hit her or scream at her or anything else nasty he had ever done. She slept with a peaceful smile, contentedly sighing about whatever she dreamed.
And it made him smile. His lips twitched lopsidedly as he let out a chuff of laughter, watching her for the brief moment. How could anyone be so perfect even as they slept? A normal person would have relished such a thing, letting poor Piper have her sleep, and maybe enjoying the fact that she were so happy. But not him.
He lay himself down beside her just as gently as he possibly could, arms snaking around her middle almost like he intended to merely hug her. Maybe it wouldn't be so hard, to lay here with her gathered up in his arms, drinking in the sweet scent of her old perfume and the softness of her skin. To be happy and let someone else be happy as well.
Something would never let him though, it might have been guilt, it might just have been the fact that he was an evil wicked man, but he could not and would not let anyone be the slightest bit comfortable, let alone happy, while he was around.
With a jerk of his arms he was squeezing her, like a python constricting it's prey, and the real grin flooding over his face. The short, sharp squeal she gave only widened it.
“You're hurting me!” She strained through gritted teeth, feebly trying to loosen his grasp around her. As if he didn't know, as if he didn't get some sick rush from the idea.
“Oops.” He hissed into her bare shoulder, holding tighter as she began to struggle.
“Let go.” She whined, maybe on the verge of tears already. She had at least managed to free her arms, now trying to loosen his grip herself. It wouldn't work. Her determination might be one thing, but she was still his little china doll. The one so perfect it was surreal and so he had to break her to remind himself that even she was human.
A strangling noise bubbled up from within her throat and labored panting after that. He sighed just as contentedly as she had before, face tilting down so that his forehead rest against her back. Even her skin was cold, like she was made of glass.
“I just want to hold you.” He murmured, the grim sort of irony in the statement amusing him. He thought she would have been smarter than to struggle so long, holding her until she stopped – limp as a rag doll – defeated.
