|Somewhere there's a silver sky...
|and it waits for you, though I don't know why.
The young man was quiet as he approached the sickbed of the other. His breath caught in his throat as he knelt beside it. The ceaseless beeping of the machines ground on his nerves, and he longed to tear them away from the frail body resting there.
Trembling hands found their way to the pale chilled one resting on the spread. They were nerveless fingers that wrapped around it, clutching at some proof that this tortured being really did exist in this world, if only for now.
The young man shuddered, wracked with grief, even as the other began to stir. Pale grey eyes met the bright brown, searching for answers to questions that could never be asked. The ghost of a smile flitted across his face, only to be obliterated with the force of his cough. He sighed, turning his face to his pillow as his eyes flickered shut. "Hello, Ajax. It's been a while since you came to visit." His voice was weak, barely more than a whisper, but a smile still glowed within his words.
The brown-eyed young man blinked, overcome with grief at the other's seeming joy at his presence. He had come, not of his own will, but at the urging of the others. He had no desire to see this old friend, who had become nothing more than a reminder of how things used to be.
A sudden, shuddering cough rang through the room, accompanied by a stutter in the machine's beeping. The young man jolted forward, eyes wide with fear. "Aloysius, are you alright?" He nodded, waving off the other's concern as he coughed louder, covering his mouth with his hand. "It'll pass, don't worry.'' Indeed, the coughing began to subside, leaving behind only small flecks of red on his hand. Brown eyes narrowed in pain and fear, hidden behind a facade of calm.
Aloysius dropped back on the pillows with a groan, eyes full of resignation. He tried to smile, but it was little more than a grimace. Ajax's hand raised, slightly, before falling back to the bed. "I don't suppose the doctors have told you any more?" Grey eyes narrowed as he shook his head, only to be interrupted by a wracking cough. The pain on his old friend's face cut into the brown eyed young man like a knife. He couldn't stand it, and started to rise, only to be stopped by a a tense hand gripping his.
"Please, don't leave yet? I don't want...I don't...can't..." A choking cough echoed in the young man's chest, his grey eyes widening in fear. The horrible noise had only begun when the monitors began to scream. The young man jolted upright, gripping his friend's hand tightly even as the shaking started. "Aloysius? Aloysius!" Brown eyes widened as the young man screamed, watching in horror. "Somebody, somebody get in here now!" His voice traveled through the halls, bringing a chorus of pounding feet.
Doctors pushed through the doors, gathering around the bed. Voices melded into a senseless cacophony. Ajax stood against the wall, hand pressed to his lips as tears streaked down his face. The young man's eyes flickered shut, lips moving in a soundless plea. "Réquiem ætérnam dona ei..."
|And I don't know why a silver sky,
|couldn't wait for someone as broken as I.

The woman ran through busy street. Her eyes were on only one thing - the back of his head. If it was him. She hadn't seen him for so long, she could nolonger tell. He had changed so much.
She ran faster still, apoligizing quickly to people as she charged through the crowds.
Panting, the woman finally caught up to him. She knew how embarassed she would be if it wasn't him, but she would take her chances.
He was as tall as ever, towering over most people in the lane.
Memories rushed through her. What would happen when she spoke to him? How would he react?
She took a breath, and reaching up, tapped him on the shoulder.
He turned round. It seemed to take forever.
His features had grown more distinguished since she had last seen him, quite a few years ago.
But he was still the same. The mysterious green eyes. The dark brown hair.
And they locked eyes.
"Ekon?"
"Selena?"
When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear
to always get me through
the day
and make it ok
I miss you
