How Do You Organize Your Pets?

i organize my pets according to the numbers at the start of each groups name.

001-006: special groups, e.g. pets i got from the pound, rares, omgsrs, vrs, etc
100-105: groups for trading, self explanatory (one big uft group, rares uft group..)
200-220: collection, organized by species + pps
300-305: miscellaneous groups (hoards, payments)

Very poorly.

Right now I just have general categories for each species, not determined by age or anything, and throw my dupes in a trading bin.

It's kinda difficult to determine what's left in my collection

I have all groups locked except for monthly swaps and actual trades which are marked as "▷▶▷ Trades" then I have my monthly nursery section at the top of the list (for faster checking) they're labeled "▷ ▶ Growing" I and II
I'm able to get things in the right order by putting additional spaces in front of the arrows, they don't show up or stretch the group names. So it's super helpful without using all the messy numbers

For hoards I use "▶▶ Hoard [ name]" and an * at the beginning of the name inside the brackets if it's a WIP, which brings it to the top of the groups so I can find them quickly.

As for collection pets I have them grouped by species.
I also have separate groups for different line art like hamsters or staff pets by using parentheses such as Staff Lines (Nick) or Staff Lines (Tess) and Dragons (East) or Dragons (West)

mine are currently organized by color! then i have a group specifically for trading purposes, a locked group for my favorites (regardless of their color), and a group for pets from the current month that are still growing c: my ‘top tier’ group is for pets i like to use in my signature or other things! i also have one hoard (christmas draft horse pps).

I organize mine by species with an exception of my rare pets~

species, its the only way i have the most amount of groups without making the list scroll

Folders by species, with the most common species (cats, dogs, horses) getting a new folder for each new year + a "pre-2019" folder for each since that is when I made my account.
Then I have the staff pets' folders for cats and dogs.
Then I've separated my favourite pets into folders by themes (ocean, creepy, nature, celestial, steampunk etc) so they don't clash aesthetically.

And finally one big general trade folder + a new folder each month for monthly swaps that gets emptied out and renamed at the start of every month.

i sort by species and i have a special nft folder for very cute ones that i love :D

mainly sorted by rarity. It makes it easier to trade for me because I try to match the rarity and date which is easier if the rarity is already organized. otherwise i have special collections like a few small hoards and collections for special events (only a few) and staff pets sorted by year. lastly, for my very rares and favorite/best pets I have an extra showcase folder and a welcome folder for special pets I just love even though they are mainly uncommons !
