I'm getting tired of these people who are trying to scam others. I saw an auction for an Evil Shima PPS. That is a highly sought after pet. Someone posted on the auction and said they would offer a Drink Me dog, but the auctioneer had to add stuff to their side. *rolls eyes* That PPS is worth more than a common rare like a Drink Me dog. I PM'ed the auctioneer to make sure.

And I am sort of ticked off at one person. They said they would add stuff to their side so the autowin would be fair. I auto-ed, and they never added. >_<

I try to stay away from auctions if I can help it. But now it seems like that's the only way to get some of the older rarer pets.

Firestar, that same person sent me a trade just like the one they sent you.

I can understand it if I posted I wanted to bid and said "go through my groups" but I posted an offer then withdrew my offer because I already got the dog. All before they sent this trade.

Okay, getting sick of this. Beyond sick of this.

Once again, bid in an auction, the person stated in not so many words that I had won. They said "Put them in a group and I'll send a trade when I get back from school." So, I PM'd her with the details of me needing to get 3 of the pets from a friend who allowed me to trade his pets.

And, what did she do? She reopened the auction.

My bid was horribly on fair on my side, giving her -way- more than the pet was worth. So I said forget it and withdrew the bid completely.

This is two for two now. : P Every time I bid on an auction, this crap ends up happening. "You won!" and then "Oh, know what? More bids please!" Why on Earth don't we have rules for the Auction forum? Sorry, but it seems really dishonest to me to pull that on someone. Even on Unifaction, there were rules stating that once the auction was over, the trade was in essence complete, and you trade. Heck, on Ebay, it's a contract.

On Uni, and even Aywas, you have a time limit on how long an auction goes on, IE: You set the timeline, then that's it. Most of these auctions that go on forever? Why on earth am I going to hold my pets for a month? Everytime I've held an auction, I set a time limit on it. And, I usually have some pretty good bids. Why? Because people know it Will end. And, if the bids aren't to my liking? Then I' PM the people I'm ending and relisting with the same week and a half format, as it didn't meet my mental reserve, and offer to let them keep their bids there or withdraw, their choice. Ehhh, anyways, not going on, even though I could say more. >.>

I think, if anything, I've just learned that I will from this point on avoid the Auction Forum. Until there's some sort of order and rules to protect bidders, and even auctioneers, I'm not going there. I completely give up.

Well, the auctions work mostly on an honor system. You get what you sign up for, which is an uncertain scenario in which you may or may not win, and you are subject to the whims of the auctioneer. If they decide they want to keep their pet, they have every right to; as do you to withdraw if you decide you don't want it or get it elsewhere. People who get greedy and prolong auctions or have confusing rules will suffer for it, as many people will end up withdrawing and not wanting to participate in their auctions in the future. I think it'd be pretty difficult to standardize a system for everyone, as well as make a lot of extra work for the staff to enforce those rules.

Along those lines. I just read a person's auction rules saying "No withdrawing, it's a waste of my time."
Em...good luck with getting any bidders, then. ^^

I was participating in the same auction, and I know how much you offered (i.e. A LOT)
Guess what? That person has traded away the pet and hasn't even closed the auction. DX Well, that's one more broken dream for me...

I hate it when people say they really want the pet you're auctioning, they see the autowin, but they don't offer what they have of it. Like, with my Galaxy, an auto is the Joker + Black Advent + Holly Fox Dog + Leopard Malk Horse. Except for the horse, that's a fair trade offer. This person is offering a Joker and a horse. But they haven't offered their black advent, which would really up their bid.

I really hate the auctions were they are insistent on putting everything in the bid in one folder. While I understand it makes things easier, it takes those pets out of my trade folder 9/10 on an auction with no end date.

Not that I ever had much faith in auctions. Every once in a while I'll go back and participate in a couple of them just to remind myself not to participate in them because they're more often than not just a waste of time because the auctioneer decides not to trade the pet or trades it away and forgets about the auction entirely.

I'm trying to auction one of my pets, a CE Galaxy right now. Some of the bids have been much better than the autos I have posted. But I want the autos more than that. But at the same time, I don't want to pester someone about a pet they haven't bid.

And I always post the bids.

And I also really despise it when people are auctioning a pet they're bidding in my auction.
