Yeah, a kelpie is a Scottish fae horse that lives in lakes or the sea. It has a habit of persuading its victims to ride it and then drowning them, as I recall.
There is an Irish equivalent - a lot of the myths are interwoven between the countries - I can't remember its name without looking it up. ~googles~
Pet's name: The Night Mare

Kelpies supposedly haunt the rivers and lochs of Scotland
and Ireland.
I think Kelpies are black, but in some stories white. And yes, Javin is right.

I think it doesn't nessacarily drown them, it devours them. Though it may wait for them to drown before.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KelpieI doubt these are kelpies.
I'm sorry, guys. I don't check into CS very often anymore, summer break and Christmas being one of few sources of free time. I'm not gone or giving away pets, but for the most part I'm inactive. :C
However, trades are still welcome and I will try to get back to any as soon as possible.

Ahh, I was wondering when we'd get into mythology. I tried but not for very long on the first day the comet showed up to look for myths involving some kind of equine that came to earth as a comet...(predictably, no luck there)

These myths are so morbid! XD
I find it a little disturbing that I'm laughing hysterically at the "drowns and eats children" part. I can't really defend myself there... >_> "Only to leave behind their heart and liver!" Bwa!Ahem. Anyway.
Does anyone else find it's legs a little long? Unless it's standing on something... And the dust cloud conveniently covering the area all around the head does make me think unicorn. ^^
