Rares List Discussion *DISCONTINUED*

You see, the Rares List guide was merely only just a guide that really wasn't supposed to be followed entirely. Just to give a general idea of list trading. Besides, people sometimes trade by demand/value, like myself. I'm sure it'll be quite alright without a list guide ^^
And yes there are other projects being worked on with similar guides so it'll be okay.

ah I guess I never cared about the list but I got rereleased list pet during the advent last year and i was excited bc I perceived ppl with list pets as "elites" or something ?? Bc they had such rare pets and those pets seemed completely unattainable to me. So it's good that maybe some of those pets will be easier to get but I'm sure even if the list is discontinued, ppl will still overpay for those pets. I'm just hoping that my one list (which is in my signature) can retain its value ??

thankfully the list had no real effect on pet value! Your pet is quite rare and unless for some reason it's over-released some day by accident, it should stay that way.

Yep! List pets will retain their value, however, they're losing the value the list created for them.
(Ex: a pet 'worth' 10k '09 rares is still very valuable, but it's losing the false value of 10k '09 rares.)

I admit that i've just been silently stalking this conversation. xD

I believe that once all the dust settles, that things will definitely be for the better, despite all the chaos that's currently going on at the moment.


I can definitely attest to the original rares list being a bit too difficult, and agree with those that say it tended to cause pets to have extra demand tacked on, or taken off of them needlessly. Of course demand is a user based thing, but you know...

Reflecting on this trade for example. (which still kinda stings when i look at it aha!) I tried going by that gaps list, offering up that cake dog and a tier 2 advent time and time again, only to get a decline with "unfair due to the cake dog's demand" just about every time. When technically the demand was already supposed to have been figured in with all that placement if i'm remembering correctly. I had to eventually shell out 2 extra tier 5 advents to get anyone to even think about it, ouchie! >.<

I disagree with that greatly. With the list was both a nightmare and boring. You got yelled at if you didn't use it, and using it was like using a half functioning calculator. This tier plus this tier equals this tier, etc.
Now there will be more diversity in "list pet" trades that the two players involved in the trade agree upon themselves. Might make trading actually kind of fun again.

i also disagree! now it'll be like "wow, i'm getting the cute pets ive always wanted--and they're worth the same as my unwanted pets!"

i have to agree with s a g e, i guess it will be a little boring now, i really liked the list and its was very helpful, not perfect of course, but at least a guideline.
and i 100% doubt that it will be easier now to get some "cute pets for unwanted pets". some member already posted trades they recieved where people asked for "list" pets offering just another very rare...they all got cancelled. of course! to be honest i wouldnt trade my ur bee for an omgsr rat either and of course i wouldnt give away my raven dog for another 2010 very rare dog.
demand is always a personal opinion, and this wont change by just "deleting" the list.
perhaps pets now will be even harder to achive since nobody knows anymore what to ask and what to offer for them.

I mean I used the list yeah, but I'm not mad about the discontinuation. I used it to trade for the pets I wanted, and I got the pets I wanted.

Personally, I feel like the people who are mad about it discontinuing are the people who have invested more time than they should've into it. Because remember: the Rares List guide was merely only just a guide that really wasn't supposed to be followed entirely.

And yet despite this, people treated it like the trading bible.
