What do you hoard?
I have 3 unlimited hoards, 1 complete hoard. The unlimited ones are weather ponies, lightbulb spiders, and the "Tron" horses (or whatever they're commonly called). The complete one is 5 of each of the elemental dogs from 2011.

Why do you hoard them?
I hoard the weather ponies because I used to be a meteorology major, they used to be crazy-easy to get, and I loved the multi-stage change in the 2010 ones.
I hoard the lightbulb spiders because I thought it would be funny to have a group full of them.
I hoard the "Tron" horses because I like the techno-design and because I thought they were music notes when they were foals
I hoarded the elemental dogs because I liked the patterns

How large is your hoard?
Weather ponies: 481, Spiders: 72, Horses: 190, Dogs: 20

What is your goal for the hoard?
No goal for spiders or the horse litter, but with the change of the Equimagine lines I'm going to stop at 500 for the weather ponies (unless some new weather or snow ponies come out in the near future). The dog litter is complete at 5 of each outcome.

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
No. I'm kind of stingy that way. I keep them on my WL so I can get them from the pound or so there's something easier for people to find for CS lights on/off on October. When I started my pony hoard, I haunted the adoption board and traded off all of my January 2010 pets for more of them.

What was the first pet/item in your hoard?
I'm not sure on any of them. It's been a while since I started my hoards.

What do you hoard?
I hoard purple pets, not just ones that are fully purple, if the pet has a noticeable amount of purple on it, like a color, than it belongs.
Why do you hoard them?
Because purple is my favorite color!
How large is your hoard?
It's at 236 pets at the moment.
What is your goal for the hoard?
Well this is part of the reason I'm posting here, because at first it was just as many of each pet as I could get but I'm wondering if I should limit it to like 5 of each pet since there are so many different purple pets available. Opinions anyone?
Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
No, since I'm getting multiples of them and there are so many, I don't think it's necessary to overpay for them.

I don't know anymore as I spur-of-the-moment decided to create a hoard and already had a lot of the pets.

I am a hoarder of :
#1 Spiders (No longer any goal)
#2 Chickens,Chicks & Eggs ( 3 of each and every outcome)
#3 If something really catches my eye. (Mostly mini hoards 3-10 pets per outcome)

What is your goal for the hoard?
For the spiders I no longer any real goal but I know I do not want more than five of each outcome.
Chickens I want three of each and every outcome. So far they have been easy to get and,I am finding it difficult to stick to my limit of three.

Why do you hoard them?
Chickens well this is chicken smoothie but, mostly because I love my real bawk bawks.
Spiders because the real ones absolutely fascinate me.

How large is your hoard?
166 spiders, 60 Bawks (20 eggs in my nursery), 40 Microbiology dogs and, not sure there are assorted mini hoards lost in my normal groups.

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
Sometimes.
(To get the bumble bee spider I traded a tess horse from two tiers up the advent list)

What was the first pet/item in your hoard?
No idea what the first spider I had was, but this was one of them in the archive that made me say forget self control and start hoarding.

What do you hoard?
A LOT of things.But what I focus on right now are my Coons,my gifties,my sexays and my strawberries 8D

Why do you hoard them?
Well,for the Coonies,I absolutely ADORED the second stage.As in,I was ready to trade my entire account for those tiny,fluffy fudgers.I think I had 15 or so when they grew to mature stage,and luckily I liked that stage just as much,so I kept hoarding.I can say that a coonie is my weakness when it comes to trades,so if a trade involves a coonie im 99% more likely to accept.
For the gifties,I just happened to end up with three of them at once through a mass trade,and I thought they are rather cute.I never expected to get so much of them,due to demand and rarity alike,so I'm very happy!
Ahh,the sexays are probably some of my favourite pets ever designed.I'm a biiiiig sucker for blue eyes,and I didn't have the soul to throw my doubles into the trades group.Just looking into their eyes made me uncheck them,and leave them there.So when I cleaned and reorganised my groups i found 6 of these,side by side.It was inevitable.and after almost 2 years of me getting the first of them,I started hoarding!
The strawberries were an accident.I got 100 or something of them through a mass auction,as they mistook this guy for another pet i was hoarding at that time....The person worked hard to get them for me though,so I didn't tell her,and instead just accepted the trade and ended up with 100 something of these buds.I love them a lot now!

How large is your hoard?
I have 209 coonies,39 gifties,48 sexays and 532 strawberries!

What is your goal for the hoard?
100 sexays,100 gifties and endless coonies and strawberries!

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
yes.a lot,actually.

Has anyone ever had the feeling that the last 3 pets in a hoard are always insanely hard to get?

I reached 1, 000 bats for my hoard. Im happy to reach my goal for this year. I will always hoard bats but reaching that mark... I am super happy.

I'm assuming it'll be hard, there are a lot of Rare ones!

The 2011 Gallifreyan dogs.

Why do you hoard them?
Because they're cool. c:
I love their patterns, and since they remind me of Doctor Who, I love them even more.

How large is your hoard?
Currently there are 63 dogs.

What is your goal for the hoard?
I have no goal. I simply want as many as I can achieve.

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
No.

What was the first pet/item in your hoard?
I don't remember... I had quite a few already, so I just put them in a group.

I'm probably not much help because most of my hoards are mini (20-50). But I would put 'temporary' limits on your hoards. Short terms goals? Like, I'll try and get this many before so and so date. That way you've set a temp goal and can see what you're currently looking for before you hit your deadline. I do like, 4-5 mini hoards a month, so I'd take, like, 2 hoards; and strictly focus on them. Then after I finish my goals for those, I move on to the next set I want to finish. If any of that makes sense x3

I've thought about trying to complete only certain hoards first before, but somehow never really got to hold myself back when I saw other stuff while sending trades xD I somehow always ended up making my endless hoards the priority, resulting in less growth of my limited ones.
Guess I should try harder xD
I figured I should probably try to finish my minihoards first now; I have a couple of 30-50-pet ones still unfinished.
So far I have already completed two, and two others are only one away from their goal, so it seems to work very well ^^
After that I might focus on one big hoard at the time; that way I could also trade for endless hoardies as well, seeing how most people won't have more than two or three of the wanted pet anyway.

Absolutely. Especially when those pets are uncommon. I'm still stuck with a horse hoard that has a goal of only ten, because I can't seem to find those last ones.
It's really weird. I often finish my rare hoards faster than uncommon ones, simply because rares are easier to find o.o

Woah. A thousand bats is a lot o3o
They must be hellishly hard to trade for, especially since there are so few who aren't rare.

I have an extreme love for chickens!
I wish that I owed one so much, that I decided to gather as many as possible ^^

Close to 1,000 now, and I keep track of it right in my signature!

I don't have one, I'm collecting forever!

Sadly, I do. It seems that everyone only accepts overpay for the lovely creatures!

The chickens from when the first realised! I knew I had to hoard them when I saw those eggs!
