They are overpaying in both trades!
The second trade, their pet is a list and your pets are not even list.
In the first trade, your dragon is a rare, and their pet is a very rare, both from 2009

Demand wise is it fair? I don't think the grinner is easy to get rid of.

I've known many people with grinners, and they've never had any issues with trading it off! They're good pets with a good demand
