I think the ponies are based off of Soda Pop.

The green is obvious, but what flavors would the blue and pink be? Those aren't super common soda colors.

I don't know about other parts of the world, but where I come from, we have 'Crush'.

Which was the first thing I thought of when I saw this pony :B
It also comes in blue and green.

We also have 'Jones Soda'.
Bubblegum, Cream Soda, Green Apple
So these are definitely 'Soda' ponies to me. :3
