I did an ID swap for one of the lions so that it doesn't sit between the horses + trading also for a missing horse outcome the same time and when I put them both into my collection group, I realised that I need to ID swap TWO horses now so that they don't sit between the lions! xD
One of them was so avoidable... but no, I wasn't thinking enough.

I am so so happy to see the… “pride”… of lions hehe, I actually had that idea for some time (and was planning to make a litter of pride lions when I was an artist for the uma cozies!) so it’s so cool seeing them become a reality ^^

All the designs were so well executed, I especially love the detail of having both a lion and lioness variant for the trans flag! And the inclusion of some less common flags, like the ace-spec flag <3

Gilbert Baker 9-Stripe Pride Flag
I thought the history behind these were very interesting and figured it would be a shame not to include the version of the flag where the stripes have such meanings! I wanted it to have the same artful look to it as most of the other rainbow pets I have made and I think I succeeded.


Questioning Flag
This flag is meant for those who haven't fully formed into their identity yet, so I made this into a cub lineart to represent that growth! The nose is meant to be the dot on the question mark haha.

Thank you so much for putting the research into these lions! They might just be pets for a game but having someone take the time and care to look into flags is always appreciative.

I think the Questioning cub is my favorite in terms of the choice of making it a still-growing pet. Also just including people who are still trying to figure themselves out (whether or not they do figure out that they're queer in the end) is super sweet and important in the theme of pride month! Call me a history geek but it's always nice to see artists include the Gilbert Baker pride flag, so seeing the pink along the rainbow was an exciting find when grabbing this litter. She’s cute but She’s kiiinda giving rib eye steak 😭 I feel like the red eyes aren’t helping with the uncooked steak vibes I’m getting from this girlie, but I kinda love it the same time, she does stand out from the other lions!! <3

Not too excited about the stores this time, though. Not really sure why, I feel like I should love them, they're based on felines after all! But they're just not doing it for me. Guess I'm not the biggest fan of dragons at the moment *shrug*

To be completely honest I wasn't 100% happy with them. My mom went to the hospital right as I was working on the dragons, and that screwed up my schedule a bit. I did my best afterwards, but I think they turned out a bit underwhelming compared to what I had originally pictured. I pretty much just wanted to make a bunch of cute kitty dragons, but of cooourse the universe had to step in and say NO. lol

I feel I'm a minorty when I say I'm not a fan of a lot of the Pride Lions.

Don't misunderstand me, I have NOTHING against representation or any groups. My thoughts are strictly on the pets themselves and the patterns.

I mean, I like the simplicity of the horses...But a lot of the lions are just too colorful and or busy patterned for my tastes. Again, I understand they're based on flags and some liberties had to be taken to avoid it just being the flag over the Lion line art...but compared to year's past, these guys just don't do it for me.

I mean, I'm still gonna try and get them all but they're not going to be ones I go back and admire.

Is it just rare or there's no Aro horse?? I'm super sad about it, Aro ppl get erased a lot and seeing the Ace horse but no Aro hurts my AroAce soul ;-;

I'm so glad, I'm not the only one who misses an Aro Horse.
I'm sure it wasn't done with malicous intent but aro erasure is such a huge problem even inside the queer community. This feels so neglectful, especially since an Ace Horse is included (which I love btw)
