{I think it's both-- a pocket sundial compass! I found an article about them [as a note there's probably more info about them being specifically nautical somewhere but trying to sort through an absurd amount of Amazon sales pages was making my headache worse] :0c maybe the litter will be old nautical tools? I absolutely love the old style atlas on the rest of the design here 🥺🧡}
