I love hoards that look cohesive. So, if I hoard multiple pets from the same litter, I'll probably skip the PPS pets or put them in their own hoard because they break the flow. I like a good color story (especially neutrals with a pop of bright color), and I don't like to have pets of a starkly different rarity in the same hoard, because if there are multiple pets I prefer to have an even number of each (and if I do have that I will plan very carefully and stop collecting the more common ones once I get enough). I usually do single outcome hoards as one-page adventures, but occasionally something looks so satisfying I just want to scroll through hundreds of them. In the end, it's all vibes lol.
If I was to start an unusual hoard for me, I'd probably take on the challenge of a checkered hoard; they look so satisfying but ID swapping is a challenge.
An admirable litter to give in to, they're just so cute! Personally, I wouldn't be able to stop until I got to 1000.

Must...resist...hoarding instinct!!!
EDIT: Okay, I caved and started hoarding it. Mostly because I think it would be cute to have a hoard in honor of my son, who will be born by this Sunday or Monday at latest if he doesn't come out on his own before then lol
That's so cute! Congratulations, and may you have a quick, easy labor. <3

Usually I do single-outcome hoards, I think, as there will usually be just one pet I like enough from the litter to hoard. Occasionally I do full-litter hoards but that's far rarer. I do not like the idea of a general species hoard for myself as that seems FAR too stressful...plus, if I don't like how a specific pet looks why would I hoard it?
If I had to start a hoard for a type I don't usually do, I think I would try to do a checkered hoard. I've always thought about doing it, but I don't quite understand the mechanics of HOW (I know it has to do w/ID numbers) and with how LARGE most of my hoard goals are I feel like it would stress me out too much TToTT

They are too cute not to hoard, I can totally understand it, haha! Hoarded two of them myself.
We definitely need more mice =)

Mostly single outcomes, sometimes checkered hoards with 2 outcomes.
Very rarely litter hoards (I think I only have 3).

My Bestie (who I actually met on CS back on 2009 and first time in real life 2013 and now yearly since 2020) absolutely loves JellyFish, so I wanna do a mini hoard of these in honor of her.

They are absolutely cute as well!

Yay for 3 more additions!
I can relate to that so much, there are weeks where I don't spot a single person with the black raven from 2013 for my
hoard, and then I trade for 5 in a day.

I even overshot my goal! I though with the limited time of wanting to hoard a staff pet (that needs to grow up and people are very hesitant to trade them away) I'd get a max of 50.
Still I managed to get my
September challenge hoard to 100!

I got 6/20 so.... :']
I apparently picked one that needed more time than I had to hunt down too, haha
