They person who shot the picked named it a "complimentary" tortoise beetle because of the green and pink colors.

Yeah I know that site. I browse it for insect info and that's where I found that beetle. Like I said, it's species wasn't indentified, only its genus.

The lone wanderer. So tired, so miserable.
All but a mere shadow of an once vibrant soul.

Cursed by fate, burdened by sorrow.
Sentenced to a life of nothing but loneliness...
It looks like not everyone deserves a happy ending, after all.

Is this another thylacine? Or is it some other marsupial?

While it could be an Australian theme, I think it's more of striped animals theme with the zebra blanket on the newborns. So what is this little beauty? A mongoose maybe?

And I only have one of the cat so I'll either miss the adult or the still growing. Bugger.
And since they were late adopts, I need to wait till tomorrow to find out which I got.

There's a tiny issue about these ponies. You see, tortoise beetles have an insane amount of species, subspecies and pattern variety among both... hell, some actually even change colors like chameleons(not sure if only golden tortoise beetles do that). So looking for specific species for each pony was a literal mission impossible.

Because of this I wasn't able to identify some of the beetles these ponies were inspired on and solely based on pictures to design them. I really don't want to make you guys go through the same pain I did to identify these trolls, and so every time a pony grows up I'll reveal the specimen rigth away, alright? Tonight's pony, for example, is a Checkered Tortoise Beetle(Aslamidium capense).^^

Lilian is identifying them as they grow up. =)
