Paperclipping is a theory when you take a low value dog and trade it for something better. You keep going with that one pet or a group of pets until you get a very high valued pet.
It's like trading except you're telling people up front to overpay for something.

First thought I had was the paperclipping thing. ...I don't understand why people had to make a fad name for trading up. XD I've been trading up for a while, and usually have to trade multiple pets to do so. I just hate the name and expectations associated with that thing. *nodnod* Not that it's a problem with the guide, I just feel "papperclipping" causes more confusion and frustration than it actually helps since a lot of people don't even know what people mean by it (along with the expectations mentioned in the guide).

Second thought I had was that it didn't mention CS$ trades. Not that it needs much more info than a few links to where you get them, and to the "How much CS$ does this cost" thread, but it is good to note that it can be used to get starting rares or in some cases, better rares. While a lot of people on CS don't tend to hold CS$ that highly, and it does require money, it is another way to get up there (given you did mention selling art). My BMD and one of my Balloon Dogs was bought with CS$ after all. You don't have to buy lots of CS$ at once, you can spend $5 a month on the site and have a decent amount after a while. And it helps keep the site running.
