I know that section is on its way, but how do we work out how much value is between two tears on the lists?

For example, what is between a green android and a Flop-eared blood dog? A 2009 rare?

I have a question...I see people on the fair trade thread saying that a 2013 rare is worth a 2011 or 2010 uncommon. To me this doesn't make sense. Yes, the 2013 is much more recent, but it's still more rare. I feel like dates should only matter with same rarity trades. For example, a 2013 uncommon is going to be worth much less than a 2010 uncommon. But to me it seems like rares should always be worth more than an uncommon, regardless of year. Am I wrong about this? Obviously this isn't considering demand and things like list pets. For the sake of argument, I'm assuming that all pets involved have the same demand and are just regular pets.

I'm sorry, I am SOOO lost on this three month rule thing. It's like going in a circle!
Said pet is worth the same as another that is 3 months older/younger than it... ok, I get that...
However it just raises MORE questions... Yea, they are worth those others, now to figure out what those others are worth so I know what this one is worth! Ugh... I'm getting a migraine.
Sorry to vent... it's just I already have trouble knowing what is worth what, years, dates, advents, lists... and now to have a rule that just makes more questions... I think I'm gunna cry... I am so not an economics major.....

If anyone can help me to understand this better, I would really appreciate it!!

This is how i explained it on the 'how much is this pet worth' thread. Maybe it's more understandable for you?

The 3 month rule is basically trading a pet for any other pet from the same species and rarity, but within 3 months of the release of the pet.

So;
Trading a rare March '10 dog for a rare Jan '10 dog.
Or
Trading a 2012 common rat from september for a 2012 common rat from november.

Please note that the 3 month rule doesn't work for certain pets, the more in demand ones, or rareslist pets C: It also rarely works when skipping years, so be sure to get confirmation if the 3 month rule actually applies on the pet you want C:

December 18th pets do not fall under the 3 month rule. At least not for that date. They may fall under their true-date/true value 3 month rule.

You can't really say that you have an august 2010 dog that with the 3 month rule you can trade for a may 2010 dog (That you can trade for a februari 2010 dog) so it is thus worth the feb 2010 dog. No, the august 2010 dog is worth that may 2010 dog. So, you trade it to the may 2010 dog. Then THAT dog is can be traded for the feb 2010 dog and so on and so on.

that did help a lot knowing the 3 month rule applies only in 'same-species trading'.... thank you!

But what if you don't want the same species? Ex. I have a Feb 2009 Black and White Malk Horse... I don't collect horses, so I'll want to trade him for a dog/cat/bwolf/bat.... what would it be worth in the case of 'inter-species trading'?

You loose a little value when mixing species, but that really depends on the pet, the demand of the pets you are trading and the person you are trading with.

For example, id trade a 2013 rat for a 2013 horse no problem. But would declinea rat for a cat or a dog. Id take a cat if it was offered for a dog.

But say..an 09 rare cat for an 09 rare dog? No way! Id do it the other way around tho.

You should go to the worth thread and ask/search what the horse is worth though. The 3 month rule works best on uncommons and lower, from 2010 and later c:

Excuse me, could anyone possibly give me an idea of how much a CE Galaxy is worth in relation to the mountain zebra? eg. approximately how many I would need to trade for a zebra (assuming someone was willing to do that kind of trade).
It doesn't need to be very accurate - just a rough estimate will be fine as I really have no idea at all.
