Something's up with the pound

So it's been a while since I've seen people talk in this thread. Has anyone else noticed the last few pounds have had over 1000 pets? It's been staying open for a while now! I wonder if Nick went in and did something?

Oh no this is a recent update meaning a lot of people have been dropping unwanted or confiscated pets meaning a lot of people either are breaking rules or whatever and losing the pets but the new feature is nice refreshing the pets to see what else is leftover if you didn't get what you wanted on your first shot.

Has anyone noticed that even the Lost & Found has been draining quicker than usual? Like I'm talking down to half the usual items within maybe 15 minutes, and then all gone within an hour.

It's probably due to the current activity on site, we tend to get a lot of activity during events <3

Oh that's true, honestly kinda scary being able to grab from 1000 items 30 min into the L&F to scrambling for items 15 min in

oh for sure! But it should go back to semi-normal once easter is over. Events are prime-time for user activity, so these trends are normal.

Only thing that's not normal is the pound, where it empties fast; even when events aren't going on.

Oddly, there's been a lot of banned accounts that haven't had their pets taken to the pound. I've seen accounts that's been banned for years but had pets still in the account; to collect dust. Not sure if CS is finally picking up the confiscation again, but it's a small issue I've noticed.

On 4/4 & 4/7 the pound emptied in 2 minutes due to so many on during the Easter event.
Both times there were about 800 pets and 1900 people logged in.
Even clicking as fast as I could on a PC, I was too slow to get the first pet on my screen.
Then going back, the first 6 pets on my screen were already taken.
Missing the first pets has happened to me 11 times out of my last 41 pound openings since February.

So how about tonight's Pound incident? People who were there know that I of course mean the crash. The whole site broke as soon as the Pound opened for some strange reason. There apparently weren't even any particularly super-high-demand pets being given out for this opening either, so it's even more strange

What are everyone's thoughts on that? Do you see it as just a random hiccup, or a sign that the Pound still needs some adjustments?

I can't prove it, but I wonder what is there to stop someone using a VPN, set up a bot to refresh and open one of the "adopt me" buttons, then have alt accounts wired the same way choosing a different spot? I hope that can't happen, but I've seen pets adopted in the millisecond space between refreshing by holding F5 and I feel no human has that fast a reflex.
