Summer event ideas!

Lol I think lag would be the biggest enemy in any video game. But what would lag look like? I am thinking of pixel/glitchy turtles, sloths, stick bugs, chameleons, snails and slugs. Not sure what else in the animal kongdom is abnormally slow. We could also used a "crashed conputer" litter where each one looks like something you would see if your system is failing or failed.

I'd also like to see a corrupted litter. That would be pretty cool.

Yes! Random or patteren colored pixels everywhere but shaped into CS pets! We can always use more glitchy pets

idk, id be kind of disappointed with a video game themed event. it’s just that every summer event is about traveling to a wild new place. too me, one focusing on the internet just wouldn’t make sense. the summer events don’t really focus on cs or the web at all, they’re all about avian and totoro having new experiences in new places. honestly, i don’t know if any of that sounds right but it does in my head lol

• Circus/Carnival
• Old West
• Amusement Park
• Ancient Greece

Still very cool:

• Glitch/video game
• Jungle
• Pirates
• Skiing/Snowboarding/Hockey etc (winter sports in July!)
• Dinosaurs

Not sure? Could be fun:

• Steampunk (Feel like it's died out recently)
• Robots or Superheroes (Hard to pull off without every pet having costumes)

I agree with this 100%.

I think that if it were a video game/internet themed, they wouldn't really be "vacationing" and they'd just be having a lazy Summer (Unless it was a digital city.)
I can't imagine what the pets would look like either except for glitched pets, and a whole event of those would be boring. Those corrupted images above are kinda headache-inducing and eye-straining (and make me feel a little sickish actually), so I really hope there aren't ever pets based off of those.

They can't have anything based off of video games due to copyright either. There could be item consoles (not official ones obviously) and little controllers and games, but I don't see how that can fill an entire 10ish day event.

I personally don't believe because some staff have pixel art on their profile really means anything. Pixel art has always seemed to be popular on here (from what I can tell at least), and I don't think a pixel sundae automatically means a video game event. I don't think they'd be allowed to give out hints/clues either. I could be wrong though. c:

I do have to disagree on the point of traveling. There are game conferences that people travel hundreds to thousands of miles just to see. There is video game cosplay shows that people go to to dress up as their favorite fictional game character and exchange art, toys, games, and socialize. And games have even gone augmented reality where your travels is more interactive (like seeing pokemon on a trip to a mall or watching a 3D show at Disney World).

With video games being such a big part of our lives, having so many iconic characters, diverse worlds, and so many forms of expressions of sight, sound, and even touch, taste and smell (from theme park virtual rides using heat, water, perfumes and air) not going to a "game world" seems kinda silly since many do it IRL. Many theme parks are virtual 3D shows now. Also no matter where we actually go, CS is a game. One that usually vacations to fictional places (unless you view them as theme parks and the talking animals we adopt are animatronic toys, theme parks still have game elements to them that can be computerized).

Some of the vacation places we went to already did not involve much travel. Most of it was imagining. Like how we went to The Moon in Space, then visited Aliens in distant planets. Or catching hamsters racing fish under water in the Lost City. Even the Slumber Party and Candy Land could very well be at someones house that featured imagination as the form of travel.

I think the only valid point against a game world would be, where would you actually go and what would you actually see. But with so many things out there, and so many ways to express it in your own style, I do think its doable. Just has to be handled correctly. We had some rather nice pixel art pets.

but a generic satire of a game character could be done. we can't have Mario Jumpman Mario but we could have "Platoformer gal" and combine her with some famous platformer characters. "space shooter guy" could be a mecha-likecyborg and represent the spirit of any of those. "explorer Alexander" could represent any and all explorer characters which I know nothing about. like if Laura Croft and the Pitfall guy's grand child had a child with the guy in the Montazuma games. "super big sword hero", for our jrpgs?

Wouldn't it be cool if Avian and Totoro got stuck in a video game while they were traveling. They would need our help to find a solution to get them out of the game. c:
