Thank you for this! My experience on forums were small ones so we chat-spammed without problems to anyone, so it fuddles up in my head. Thanks to this I know now what spam really is. It's clearly described and in a nice way so I don't feel too dumb. XD; Though I feel guilty now, as I've done some of these things. (Thankfully I don't post too much here so I haven't made too many people suffer.)

Thank you for your time to make this forum!To new people this is perfect for them so they know sooner.And even older players can spam.But I mean,you can PM people to chat,am I right...or am I not.June,for all of your thoughtful time you typed this for everybody so then they know not to spam.The stamp is very nice too!Smoothians used it,defiantly!

Very well done im so glad I seen these in the forums. I've decided to put your stamp im my signature. This needs to be seen as much as possible. Everyone that chats needs to see this. Im really tired of seeing people spamming and bumping too much.

Good to see this thread! I agree with many others that this thread was needed to be out here, and thoroughly agree with all the points made in the OP.

Also, servers cost a lot of money, especially when it means a big forum like this, joined by a huge community. Lots of pointless threads would eventually start to slow the server down. I like to think to it as having a house. (Forum) You can by a lot of pointless thinsg that you don't actually need (spammy threads), so it eventuallys starts filling up the house (lots of spammy threads, no room) leaving no room for you. So what do you do? You buy a bigger house (Bigger server). That costs a lot of money. Money that could've been spent on better things; like a better TV (cool features for the site) or maybe a new couch (slightly bigger server to hold more users and run faster).

Also, I'd like to point out that Sorren Fey has made a useful thread detailing what is spam in great detail (found here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1726807 ), perhaps link to that in your post?

I completely agree. It annoys me so much when people talk off Topic. Like for example, THIS: 1st Person: Hi! I have a rare dog wanna trade? on a for example, a Furry topic. 2nd Person: Yeah.. Sure why not.. And so and so. And it will start a HUGE conversation on something that isn't even related to the Topics! It almost makes me want to scream out loud. I usually get ignored if I'm in a Topic trying to RP, when thousands of other people just come over, and start a conversation. Plus, it's a FORUM, not a Public ChatRoom. CS is a site with Forums, and you're SUPPOSED to talk ABOUT the Topic, not spamming it so much that it gets locked! It almost takes me forever to try and report the Spam. Seriously, the spam annoys me so much, it's sad to see such good Topics getting locked. Why can't these people ever stop with the spam? It makes me want to smash something!

so the pound has items avalable that it gets given to it. is there any chance to have the items in a sort of pound of their own or something? like not all of them just some every so often kinda like the pet pound works. i would love to be able to "adopt" items.

Since the dawn of the pound in 2008, an item pound has been thought of and is "in the works".

This is very helpful! I've had some.... "Issues" with spam, whether other people were doing it or I was, apparently.
This is helpful for the mods as well, so they remember what exactly spam is. Just because it's not very well worded, or is a completely stupid post does not mean it's spam (I mean making a humorous RP where anything can happen is not spam. It has characters and a story. The end.) So I hope users and mods check out this helpful thread!

an owner of an adoptable species (will not specify unless you want me to) said that we had to mark the main thread to adopt. So would all the marks they made us post be considered spam?

Spam is the exact reason that I no longer participate on the Furry topic. If I say something furry-related, I am ignored because others are chatting about art, their personal lives, etc. I'm glad to hear that one-on-one roleplays are allowed, though (not that I will be participating in any, because it makes me very nervous and shy to be talking to someone one-on-one).

yeah, that's also part of the reason why I don't like people creating topics which basically just get used for chatting amongst friends, it tends to become very exclusive so that if you aren't buddy-buddy with the in-crowd, your posts get ignored. It makes it very hard for outsiders to join in, even if they're posting on-topic, so that the topic becomes kind of pointless since only a few people are able to participate.
