Hoard Discussions Thread v.7!

So, I used to be someone who had the mindset that hoarding was greedy. More so for rare+ hoards, especially VR/list hoards. Someone at some point earlier this year thought put it simply that… yeah, they did trade fairly for those pets. I think that’s something people don’t realize or forget - the pets had to come from somewhere, they weren’t just stolen or something. Since then I actually started boarding myself. Nothing too crazy, but I have several small hoards that I’ve been having a ton of fun collecting for! I think it’s good for my ADHD, because I can get really into one pet, start a little hoard, then get really into another pet!

I feel like even before I opened up to hoarding though I always saw store hoards as totally fair because people probably/sometimes spend their real life money on that hoard, or at least to get it started. Idk, I view stores very different than most do I think lol

Anyway. my latest pet obsession is the christmas butterfly western dragon!! I really want to get a whole bunch but they’ve been so hard to trade for 😭

I have i extremely rare hoard: the malk penguin pps. I havent added one in a long time, since they are so rare to find and even harder to get. They are really expensive to achive nowadays.
Do i feel bad about having 40? No, not at all. I paid fair for them or even pverpaid. I did not scam anyone over it. I worked hard to get them, i am so proud of that hoard.

I also have over 276.000 cats. Hoarders often contact me to ask to swap cats. And since i am o ly interested in numbers, i actually prefer to swap with hoarders who actually love the outcomes.
Dont get me wrong, i love all the cats, else i wouldnt hoard them at all. I also often trade rare cats for bulk common cats, since i prefer numbers.
My collection is pretty much stuck, but my hoard is thriving.

I don't think I've ever had someone be rude to me about hoards, other than someone stating they don't trade with hoarders. That's fine though, people don't have to trade with hoarders if they don't want to. The only times people have asked me to trade something is when I had my items open. I've since learned to just lock them permanently and just trade for stuff I want. I don't even do swaps anymore really. When I did have them open people would mention "you have a duplicate", or in the case of these Halloween hoodies:



"You have so many". I'm Pretty sure I got similar trade messages about some other items, and I used to get a lot of offered swaps for animal eggs. All my pet hoards are locked too so no one will ever know I had them.

I did end up deciding on hoarding this month's 2nd gen dogs. Tentative goal is 25 of each outcome, and I did a little themed dress-up of them all getting ready for a party, except Flakes, who I couldn't think of a role/task for is traveling to get there

i just recently reached 300 in my favourite hoard!
it's technically more than that because i have three separate checker hoards for them too, but i'm only counting the main group!

i've made a lot of progress on finishing up some older hoards in the last few months, and my goal for next year will be to finish off the last remaining ones! i've also been debating cutting off most of my current unlimited hoards once they reach a nice round number and just focusing on the flower kittens, they're by far the ones that make me happiest to trade for!

{ so hoarders, two more days for this year! what are your hoard goals for 2024? I'm just hoping at this point to get my mischief all back in one group x"D but if I'm not there yet I hope 2024 is the year I break 100k rats! ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ ♡

ooh, this is a fun question! it would be awesome to see you break 100k!! *fingers crossed for ya!* it's been a while since i've set *actual* goals for my hoards, as my active ones are kind of just....indefinite lol.

i'd like to see these floofsters break 1000 in 2024!

i'm starting up hunting for them again after a bit of a break, and i've gotta say it's a bit tougher than i remember. granted, the last time i spent a lot of effort hunting for them was when they first came out. there are still quite a few up for trade, though, so i'm thinking i should be able to reach 1000 fairly easy!

i'm less worried about what these guys reach by the end of 2024, but i think there's a decent chance that i'll try to auction off another list pet for them at some point. i did it a little earlier this year and ended up with thousands! i think it would be neat if they ultimately had enough to reach a cs world record, but i doubt that'll happen this year ahaha.

for my black advents, i'm a little stuck tbh. once upon a time, i owned 10 td black advents, and it was soooo aesthetically pleasing. i'm tempted to try and go for that again, but with me going for dreamies right now, it's hard to think of finding the fodder for that. i also have started to dress them up for each color of the rainbow, but that's kind of me just testing it out to see if i like how it looks in the end. but if i stick with a rainbow theme, i'll have to figure out how to incorporate 10 colors. right now, 6 is perfect for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. i guess i could maybe add white, black, silver, and gold? or white, black, rainbow, and...something else? idk lol if anyone has suggestions, please share!

then there's these guys, which i think i'm going to try and cap at 20. i've been getting them mostly with c$, so the thought of going past 20 is kinda scary at the moment. i think if i stick to 20, i should be able to do that in this next year!

lastly, i'm debating how to organize this group, as it's gone through several changes in the past couple of months. it used to house all sorts of different outcomes, which was aesthetically pleasing to me. now, with just 3 outcomes (my brain counts both gsd's as one "type" of hoard lol), i think i'll try to give them their separate groups maybe. beyond that, i'm unsure of any goals for them, except to just keep collecting as able. things have been harder trade-wise since i traded away all my rares+ for c$. while it was a huge help in trading for re-releases this dec. 18th, it left my spare fodder for non-list pets bone-dry lol.

starting my first hoard for these cuties!! i think i'm gonna aim for 50 as my goal (currently have 15)

does anyone have any tips for returning players that don't have much current year fodder? i've mainly been doing advent swaps for them, but i only logged in from the 17th onward so i don't have much to work with. is it better to overpay for them now (w/ whatever 2020 commons i have) while there's no rarity or wait and slowly build up fodder over the coming months?

My 2024 goal is to reach 400 in my silken windhoard! I'm currently at 349 of this little one:


After I reach that... I'm not too sure. I might try aiming for a cool 500 silkens, but that sounds like a whole lot of work!

I don't have any more ongoing hoards, so maybe I'll look into starting an item hoard, or consider these pets a bit more from my potential hoards group. Or I'll make it a goal to find another pet all together I want to hoard!

Edit: I can't really answer the question above, because when I came back after a long hiatus, I was trading away old pets for dirt cheap newer pets. At the time my idea was to make people really happy, and to trade cool pets for cool pets that I wanted more, regardless of value. Maybe don't do that haha! I personally don't regret doing it, but I can easily imagine others might.
