Pet peeve of rabid DOOM! Unless it's a second gen pairing, they aren't technically siblings. It's just an opinion that they are or not if they came from the same blanket. But I do think it's a bit uncreative to pair up pets from the same blanket, cause they are supposed to match each other so it's too easy for them to look good together. ;P
Lion time!

Mehko [F] and Danny[M]Mehko is a vampire who travels far and wide across the land killing other creatures to slake his unending thirst for blood. While Danny is a simple village boy who happens upon Mehko while he is out watching a herd of goats at night.
At first Mehko was just going to drink the stupid village boy dry, but the way Danny spits out how he's not going to surrender his goats without a fight actually amuses him, so he plays his being there as an accident and that he doesn't want the goats but simply wants a safe place to sleep for the night.
Danny allows the strange male to stay at his camp and the two talk, mostly about Danny's life in the village. The subject slowly turns to how he hates being seen as the village idiot who has dreams of traveling the world, which is something everyone tells him, cannot be done by
anyone.
Somewhere in Mehko's unbeating heart he feels a pang of understanding, this boy is dreaming the same dream and being told the same lies of impossibility. And that is when he felt it, the pulling inside his chest was telling him to do something good for once, help this young lion fulfill his dreams. Perhaps Danny would forgive him... there was a strong part of him that believed that's what would happen, a newly turned beast needed guidance and whether he liked it or not Danny would need him.
Mehko pretended exhaustion and waited for Danny to fall asleep before he slowly stood and advanced towards the boy, fangs extended to take in the other's blood.
When morning came Danny found himself in an unfamiliar cave, sleeping next to the dark lion he had met the night before. To say he flipped out was a major understatement. It was only when Danny attempted to run out into the sunlight, when he felt the overwhelming pain of burning flesh, that he ran back into the darkness and was willing to listen to what Mehko had to say.
Mehko explained who and what he really was and why he had done what he did. Danny seemed to lose some of his fight when he understood why, with his new "gift" of immortality he really
could travel the world, perhaps more than once... see all their was to see and more as time went on. When he asked why Mehko had chosen to let him live instead of killing him the darker lion just shrugged. Mehko didn't want to say it was because Danny reminded him of himself as a younger lion, there was something more... something about a kindred spirit. Someone who would enjoy the world and all in it as he did, and of course having another vampire around wouldn't hurt either, just turning Danny gave them so much more in common...
For the first week Danny tried to go about life as normal, he didn't want to speak to Mehko, he was still angry about this all happening without his consent. But soon the pride started to talk, how he never left during the day, how light made him shy away as if he had been burned. It was only when his eyes began to turn red that they cast him out, knowing the tales of such creatures that drank the blood of innocents in order to live, they wanted nothing to do with him. Even his own mother was among the crowd who chased him from the village and up into the mountains. He spent the first few days on his own, stubbornly refusing to call for Mehko's help, oh he knew the other lion was still around but his pride kept him from giving in.
And Mehko did well to keep his distance, waiting for the other lion to finally give in and ask him for help. He wanted Danny to come to the realization on his own that he needed the other, more experienced, vampire's help to survive in the world with his new condition.
All it took was the sunrise. Danny wasn't able to find shelter from it one day, even the rising suns dim rays were burning his retinas. Stumbling from the pain he finally shouted for help from the only person who knew what he was going through, and Mehko came. Even if the other lion was more in danger of death from the light than Danny was he charged from his hiding place in a shadowed dug out to pull the striped lion back towards it. After they both fell in Danny smacked Mehko as hard as he could with claws bared, and then promptly broke down crying on the other lion's shoulder. There were no words, they both already understood that Danny was to go with Mehko, he had little choice if he wanted to survive and Mehko finally had his kindred spirit.
It wasn't until years and years later that things began to change for the two of them relationship wise. Danny overcame his anger at the darker lion only five years into their travels, for only after seeing places he had never imagined did he really understand what he had been given the day Mehko bit him. He had been given freedom, along with an eternal life to enjoy it, sure he was dead but to be honest he hadn't felt this alive in his entire life! Mehko didn't have any anger to overcome, he found himself instead happier than ever to just have company. He had spent hundreds of years avoiding others and it made him bitter, the only thing he enjoyed was killing but now he found it to be less than what it had once been for him. He only killed when he was hungry and it was never a fellow lion he took as a victim, not ever again. He found himself thinking constantly that he was only happy if Danny was there with him, he couldn't imagine the other lion not being with him... in fact, that very thought troubled him deeply. If Danny ever left... he couldn't even finish the thought, it shook him violently to his core.
When Danny took off for a few weeks with a lioness from a village they passed it hit Mehko hard, he became reclusive and angry. Retreating into himself and stewing in his jealousy, finally he killed the lioness's mother and left the fur of his companion at the scene, which wasn't necessary really, Danny's scent was already all over the place. The village blamed him and would have forced him to stand outside in the sunlight if Mehko hadn't come in the night and murdered half of them to get Danny out from under their guard. Danny thanked his friend profusely but Mehko simply turned on him, he hollered that Danny would never have been in this mess if he hadn't of gone off with that lioness. Then he took it so far as to scold Danny for letting into his urges on another lion, for killing that lioness's mother. Danny was quiet for a long time, simply staring into Mehko's firey eyes... until finally he said he was sorry for giving into his urges, which threw Mehko off balance, he had expected the striped lion to plead innocent. Fumbling over his words Mehko forgave the younger lion, and then stormed off to search for shelter from the oncoming sunshine.
Danny knew that his friend had killed the lioness's mother, at first he couldn't understand why he was being blamed but then it hit him. Looking into Mehko's hurt and angry eyes... Mehko was jealous. His oddly affectionate behavior over the past few years made sense all in one instant, and the fact that he could make the other lion flustered just by showing interesting in someone else made him feel... special. Like nothing he could explain or put into words, it just made him feel special and... loved. Ever since he finally got over his anger and started enjoying himself more, he realized how much he was drawn to the other male, he just hadn't thought two males could... but you know if Mehko was doing it, it had to be possible. Danny got a little blush everytime he'd try to imagine it.
After about a month of awkward moments and conversations Danny realized Mehko wasn't going to make the first move... it would have to be him. Many more awkward moments happened between them before Danny just came out and asked Mehko to be his mate, he was rather angry when he asked but Mehko didn't care all he heard were the words and not in which way they were delivered. He too had noticed how they were almost dancing around each other as of late, Danny always seemed like he wanted to ask something or say something more and Mehko guessed this was it.
Mehko of course said yes, the two of them settled into the idea at their own pace. And soon enough the both of them were more comfortable doing things that mates do, acting like mates would. Though they still had awkward moments, but at least now it wasn't tension.
It was simply awkward love. <3
Aaaand that was totally random and took me too long. It's 3:30 in the morning, I am frakkin' tired. Goodnight. Dx
