I think this is a lovely idea, and the gifts and the pony (I only have one so far) are really beautiful. I have always thought Hanukkah was a beautiful holiday.

I do have to point out that there is a profound symbolism to having "CHRISTMAS" written over something meant to celebrate Hanukkah . . . and it's not pleasant symbolism. I'm sure that can be fixed easily.

It's good that this has provided a chance for a lot of people to educate themselves about things that aren't apparently taught in schools, so bravo on that.

I just noticed that myself Naamah, and you do have an excellent point. It's odd for a pet that symbolizes Hanukkah to still have a Christmas tag, and it feels like the tag is defeating the purpose of having the pets, in a way. :/ Just thought I'd throw my two cents in as support; I don't mean to cause a huge argument over it. But I agree that changing the tag to say "Hanukkah 2009" (perhaps in nice white and blue lettering :3) would be the much better choice all around.

I'm guessing they'll be changing it. The tags areoccasionally a bit off when the pets first come out (or so I have noticed from the Tiny Details thread ).

That makes sense but what about the item itself? I mean, do you guys think they'll release an extra candle a day to add to it? Or will the item change to match the day of Hanukkah we're on? Let me note that I do not celebrate Hanukkah but I love that CS is doing this and I was just curious about the item.

I don't think we'll ever have Kwanzaa pets or items or anything because honestly it is a relatively small holiday. I believe only people in the United States celebrate it and Tess and Nick do not live in the U.S. And, as has been mentioned, it is not a religious celebration. It's about Civil Rights, which wouldn't apply to the majority of CS users I would guess (since a large number are not from the U.S.).

Anyway the horse is very cute I also think they will change the tag when they get a chance.

Random comment: At least 2 people got a real zebra when adopting Equimagine's gift during the Advent Calender. Did anyone get a real zebra from adopting these Hanukkah gifts?
