I wouldn’t mind paying a little extra for the old store sets it they were put back in the store for a limited time

I like that the store pets are only available for a limited amount of time. It makes it more fun and gratifying to know u have a special pet when u get one !

Yes but it makes it hell for newer players to get one. They didn’t even get the chance to buy one from the store like the older players did. Coming from someone who had to start from scratch, it makes trading very one-sided and no fun at all for the player that struggles to get anything of value with only recent pets and the kindness of others sending a gift here and there.
Rereleasing them for a few days would be just the same as rereleasing dec 18 pets, so i see no hurt in doing it. We get a chance at getting older rares for free once a year, so whats so wrong with getting a chance to buy older store pets again?

As cs grows and old players go inactive, store pets become harder and harder to get for everyone. Eventually it will get to the point that there is only a tiny handful of a certain pet in circulation. Go a little further into the future and there will be none of that pet in circulation if nothing is done about it.

I mean I joined in 2014 and still have a couple old store pets; it’s not like trading then was any easier than it is now, especially for pets like the lion tail, Cerberus, raven etc ^.^ of course it’s going to be hard to get the older pets but that’s part of the game. Plus, it’s unlikely they would rerelease store pets as it’s unfair to the people who spent real money on them under the promise that they wouldn’t be released again :)

I was originally here in 2012. I can safely say that trading for older stuff back then was much easier. Nobody cared too much about demand and just traded for what the pet was worth based on rarity and date. I got most of my dreamies pretty quickly without having to trade off my entire account to do so. Now, i move at a crawl desperately trying to get a few of those pets back.
Being a new person on cs in this current economy is near impossible and thats why i see so many new players less than a year old making quitting threads. Theres no point trying to trade people when others view your newer pets as worthless.

That’s another problem. The new rarity system was cool, sure, but it really hurt the newer players. It was slightly easier to trade when most of your pets were commons and uncommons. Now that omgsc and vc is a thing, it’s nearly impossible to trade pets off because they’re seen as worthless junk no matter how nice the actual pet is.

And I don’t mean to rerelease store pets for free. Just put them back in the store for a special event and then take them back out. I would even be ok with spending more than the original price as long as i got to actually get that pet for a fair amount instead of selling my kidney.

Even putting the pets back in the store I think is unfair to people who originally bought them. It’s the same reason they don’t delete inactive accounts; it’s just not fair.

I guess ur right about trading then being a little easier, but also, the list wasn’t retired then. I feel like a lot of people voted to retire the list bc they thought it would make trading easier when in actuality it made trading harder :)

Demand has been excessive and extensive lately which is really confusing and bothersome, and sometimes doesn’t even make sense. But as a trader it’s the main reason I play, to challenge myself by working my way up some sort of chain ^^;

And I disagree with older store pets being sold again. It’s definitely unfair and will make plenty of people unhappy, it’s unnecessary. There are many different solutions to this problem, but re-selling store pets shouldn’t be an option. Store pets are meant to be exclusive, knowing that they’d be re-sold, I would never buy store pets again.

I'm worried the rise of 'demand' over 'value' in tandem with the ending of the rares list makes it easier for more active, experienced players to cheat others out of their pets.

that was kind of the point of the rares list, I felt. to... you know... help establish some sense of normalcy and order. now we don't have that, and as someone who doesn't spend an exordinate amount of time nor effort on trading, I'm afraid and overly cautious in when trading. and that's not... fun.

I agree with that, the rares list did provide a sense of order, if we still had it and it were revamped, we probably wouldn’t be in such trouble with the inflation of demand. It’s going to crazy extents that’s seemingly too difficult and confusing for new members especially

that was the initial intent, it's also important to remember it was just meant to be used as a guide, and not law like it was treated. but the rare's list could simply not be kept active anymore. it was beyond repair, it was creating just as much confusion. there would be questions left and right about "if this says it's worth x, then why do people say it goes for x?"

though unfortunately it's probably more likely to cause the occasional pet ninja attempt in that aspect, it would've been almost just as bad keeping up a list that displayed false information. for example say the list was still up, a new, or user that doesn't spend much time trading has a ur bengal, and gets told it's worth a nonballoon according to the "list". that would essentially in itself be both obviously false information and scam bait.

and the problem with revamping it would've just caused the same exact problem a few years later. it's impossible to keep up with the constant shifting of both rarity and demand, especially that quickly.

I guess it depends on the person. I still have my Raven that I bought and a few other pets, and I personally wouldn't mind them being sold again to help others. That's just how I see it.

Trading was a lot easier. It does feel harder to trade for the most part, it's just difficult to get anything now. I get an awesome trade every now and then, but the rest are eh.

Also, what's with 2010 rares being treated so poorly? Like, no matter the species, I'm constantly told they don't have any demand and people don't want them, even for newer rares.
