This is a great thread. :D
One thing, though. When I'm roleplaying, I have to say 'I have to leave now' or something similar if I'm in the middle of roleplaying with someone. Sometimes people poof, only to come back a few minutes later. Sometimes the person gets a bit irritated if they think you poofed for a few moments, even though you're at school or something. Plus, it's good to let people know how long I'll be gone, around when I'll come back etc. so that they know when to get on to continue the roleplay.

I have a question: Would you consider quoting someone and having a one word question like "Why?" spam? I really would not, because that is participating the discussion, even if the question is short...right? Sorry if I am being dumb by asking this, just it really seemed like you were against that kind of thing.

Can a "trade" qualify as spam? I received an open, no limit trade suggestion that seems more an advertisement for a thread "selling" a service for pets than a real trade. When I provided some options and requested any limits, instead of a negotiation, what I got back was a cancelled trade with "sorry I don't trade 'those pets'". It hardly seemed a serious trade request.
Thank you!
