How Do You Organize Your Pets?

I have a lovelies/not for trade group which obviously has trades disabled. I also have a ‘still growing’ group with trades disabled (I may still put some still growing pets in the nft group). For groups with trading enabled, I have a general trading group, a duplicates group, and a tentative group (for pets I’m not sure about keeping or trading). I may split my general not for trade group into separate collections once I get more pets though.

I wouldn't be surprised if my set up drives people insane, but it works for me!

Mine is:
ungrouped is my nursery
-1. is seasonal groups & stuff I need higher up (mainly stuff to sort)
-101. is just random double of species I want sorted together (zebras, malks, etc.)
0. Trades/Auction
00. Extra sets, special stuff to me, and storage
1. Collections and sets (store set, URs, staff & GH litters, and random dated sets)
2. Date and species specific sets (basically everything non-monthly)
2.08-2.23 is my pet sets
3. Is self explanatory; pet sets only missing URs
4. Is the pets I hoard
5. Is hoards with unknown amounts & unlimited hoards


The annoying part starts now..
Dragons, Hamsters, Horses, and Foxes I don't sort normally.
Let's use 2022 for an example.

I am thinking about splitting up my URs into their respective years, but that's TBD right now.

I just started playing last week, so my groups are probably going to change as I grow my collection, but for now I go by theme! My groups are:

- one for deer, as they're my favorite species and I plan on getting as many deer as possible
- one for pink, white and red pets, since it's one of my favorite color schemes
- one for purple pets
- one for flower-themed pets that don't fit in the above categories
- one for spooky pets
- one for storage of pets I don't know if I'll keep
- one for pets I want to keep that don't fit the other themes
- group for trading

It's really less about organization and more about enjoying looking at nice colors and themes ... :3c

Year and month/event and separate groups for those still growing. I'm like 99% sure I'll change this once I get more pets but for now I think it looks fancy enough for me

I’ve been going by species/a specific lineart all these years, but very recently decided to reorganize everything by year. It’s a slow, agonizing process, but I’m sure it’ll be easier to find everything once I’m done.

Just finished sorting my 2010 rats only to discover that I had 4 extras from Christmas 2010. Almost 13 years they’ve been sitting in there! Now I’m wondering how many other extras managed to escape my notice all these years xD

I'm new here and might end up reorganizing folders in the future as my collection grows and I figure out what I want, but I'm happy with my set up for now!

In order I have: a few featured collections for my favorite themes like Halloween, Desserts, Plushies etc. Then my duplicates for trade. Then I just have folders for each species! (with silly names for each of course, I'm here for funsies)
My folders aren't exclusive to lineart style, I mix n match based on what I feel fits. For example the new Easter otters that look like bunnies are in my bunny folder but the Easter monkeys that look like bunnies are in my monkey folder. Why are they different? ... 🤷‍♂️ vibes.
(also I won't start a new animal folder unless I have multiple of that type, because it feels lonely if theres just one..)

I feel like I'll definitely be starting a nursery folder when next months adopts come out just to browse the new growing guys all at once!

I use symbols to nest things and it it really looks messy. I sort generally by species for collections with some other groups with lineart that I feel needs special attention. I have all eggs together and all pets that represent the reindeer each Christmas. I recently made a group for pets that are sitting or on things:

I just feel it's jarring seeing a page of generally normal looking pets, then something heavily edited they're not even what they originally were anymore

start with my collections (halloween, cookie, cat markings, huskies, 2015 ghost hamsters, etc) then my cats sorted by rarity, my wishlist pets (those i don't want to separate by rarity), deer sorted by rarity, event stuff for trading, christmas collection, growing pets & pets i have ready for trading/gifting

i have so many pets im glad i worked on organising them early when i first started playing lol...
pets that aren't apart of a collection, a hoard, or a favourite are organized by year as well as by rarity! i have some other special groups as well. I use letters, numbers and symbols to put the groups in a specific order. This is a pain with rarities changing so often but make my brain happy to scroll through all my organized groups! though some people probably get annoyed trying to trade me with having to scroll for forever to the bottom..
i am very much so insane with organization and have 62 group currently.. (63 including pets without a group)
i will never reorganize my groups differently LOL too many pets.. i have been tempted to also sort by species for pets that im not currently looking for a full collection of the lineart..
