I really did forget about that discussion back in Jan....

Removing the controversial pets would mean removing a good bulk of that hoard and a lot of further debate over what color a pet is. There was a two page discussion on the purple advent alone... now the April Fool's cat, spiders and zodiac dog.

Its an Odd Thing, didn't you remember this problem the last time you tried to submit this hoard?

Ah, but I was not to blame. Pets that are purple on my monitor count in my opinion, so its kind of an unavoidable topic.

That's fine for a hoard to have standards for yourself, but when you expect to be judged by others (such as holding a spot in the records) there needs to be a line drawn and they need to be easily contestable by anyone. Obviously this is not an easy one to draw as every monitor displays colors differently.

I could just as easily put every pet I own in a colored hoard just by changing my monitor settings so they all display as green. I'm sure this would cause questions as to why an obviously red dog is in a green hoard, but on my screen they would all be green.
Hence why I have such trouble with the April Fool's cat. It's very clearly pink to me, but others see it as purple. Several people saw the purple heart advent as blue while I saw it as very purple.
It is often that records are beaten by only one pet.
It is not fair to anyone trying for a record be beaten by a 'red dog in a green hoard'.

Hey, just a quick question - what kind of food is this guy? It looks like some sort of pastry to me, but I'm not sure, since the '10 easter dogs that I thought were pastry turned out to be caramel bonbons...
I already checked the name guide, but "Hot cross" isn't very helpful to me...
It'd be important to know, since I currently count it as a hoard pet, and before I trade for doubles...
