Those eyes stared straight back at Nevar, unflinching. Stella did not twitch even a tendon as he spread his wings, casting the wolven female into shadow. His shadow.

"Why did they name you as you are, Nevar?" Her words were soft, but revealed nothing of the tumoil that raged like a storm inside her slim frame.

"Because I mean it when I say never."

His voice seemed to strike the air with physical force, and the energy around the pair vibrated with the tension that had pulled it tight.

Stella said nothing- only turned and padded away.

"We're sled dogs, babe. We don't socialize with... your kind." He purred, and his blue eyes danced with a superior arrogance.

The small pup ducked her antlered head and awkwardly shuffled her front paws in the snow, a tiny frown curving her gentle mouth; but the dog was unapologetic and he rose to his slender legs, towering over the much younger, vastly smaller reindeer-looking child.

"Go off and play somewhere else, mutt." He languidly threw over his shoulder, padding over to where the remainder of his pack watched with uninterested eyes. He left Belle in his wake and from where she stood she was washed with their roars of laughter as Sarge recounted their short conversation; and she blushed dark, ashamed. She turned to move away, inwardly promising herself never to let someone hurt her like that again.

The soft sound of footsteps behind her went unnoticed until the stranger pressed his muzzle under the young girl's. "Chin up, pretty girl." He lolled his tongue and smiled down at her, and she peered up at him in open astonishment. The harness he wore was unmistakable; he was a sled dog, and from the way he carried his sturdy body, the lead.

"Who...who are you?" She stuttered, abruptly dry-mouthed, feeling as if she should have known already his name; but her thoughts were fleeting and impossible to catch and she was distracted by the steady blue shine of his laughing eyes. She was barely aware that the entire team was staring at them recklessly, their mouths parted in just as much surprise as she was feeling.

The large-shouldered male chuckled and bowed his head to her. "I'm Capone." He introduced, glancing for just a second to the other huskies. Quietly, Belle moved to sneak off, sensing he would rather be in the company of his team; but she instantly stopped when he called to her, "And you, miss? What do I call you?"

She looked back at him with naive cerulean eyes and just hoped this wasn't some cruel, twisted joke.

"Belle." She finally replied. "My name is Belle."

Quickly she ran into the thick underbrush of the forest, leaving the dogs behind her; and as soon as she was gone Capone's team flanked him. "What in the world do you think you're doing?" Sarge huffed, his eyes narrowed. "We're never supposed to talk to those ugly beasts. They aren't like us."

Capone merely glanced back at the younger male and cocked one ear. "She wears a harness like us. Her body speaks of the same ancestor of us." He grinned. "You do not merely speak to her because you are weak-minded and afraid of anything different."

The prized dogs stared at him, and it was only the whistle of their master that called them back to attention. "Be careful with what side you pick." One scrawny male warned, and some of the others nodded their heads too. "It's dangerous to prefer someone else over your own kind."

Capone let them walk ahead of him and a few paces and he glanced back at the forest as though he could see where Belle crouched between the tender holly leaves. "Speak to you tomorrow, Belle?" He murmured.

He needed only to see the flash of her gentle smile to know that was a yes.


{I may or may not write more with this... right now though I'm working on Sarge's story though. Sneak preview? 8D


"A wolf?" He muttered, glaring at her. "You're supposed to be extinct. The humans killed you all."
Her laugh was short and cruel and he shuddered when it touched him, like it was something alive and possessing, and that hard glint of her yellow eyes stole his breath. "You're just like your masters." She replied, and took a step towards him. "Stupid," she began to circle, "Useless," her muzzle came inches from touching his flank, "And ugly."
Abruptly she leaned back and her grin widened. "Next time you challenge a wolf, come with a better argument, pet."

I loved it. Both of them. You need to publish your stories in a big book so I can read them over and over again ;A;

These two are from my comic Love's Fair Secrets.

Cantabella [F] and Dingo [M]

Living in such a large house, filled literally to the brim with a vast array of creatures- many your own kind- and most of them non-related, you'd think that you would bond with someone, form some sort of relationship. But, strangely for most of the animals living at 2222 Willowby Lane, this was not true. If fact, out of hundreds of animals, and thousands of possible pairings, there were only a few.
Cantabella thought about this as she and some others lounged around in the living room, watching TV. Personally, she thought this a little strange, after all, she had never really shown any particular interest in males. They were all messy, rude or not very bright. Course, she loved them all like siblings (which would make her have alot of siblings) but no one stood out.
Cantabella rose and left the room, the blaring television getting on her nerves. Taking a detour through the kitchens to get a snack, she headed outside. It was a clear day, not to warm, not to hot. Cantabella smiled a bit and headed to a nearby tree and lay down by the roots. Here, she continued to think about the L word, pairings, and though she wouldn't admit it, what she wanted: Love.

"Oi! You lot, get down here! We got a new one!" The faint call carried through the house later that day, a very familiar call and every beast quickly hurried out of various rooms, all trying to cram into the living room. It was not possible.
"Oh, just a new dog." some one muttered, and soon every other creature except the dogs and wolves left. Even with the extra space, it was still nearly impossible to squeeze it, Cantabella found. The white she wolf jumped up and down, trying to see the new comber, to no avail. Growling she squeezed back into the hall.
"Every one, this is Dingo, the newest member to our family. Treat him nice, blah blah blah, I'm leaving." Cantabella heard her owners voice amid the noise of the room. After a few minutes she made it to the hall and walked off muttering. "Its a bloody mad house in there!" shaking her head Cantabella rose on her hind legs, desperately hopeing for a look at this new comer.
"Wanna brave the sea together?" someone said. Cantabella turned to find SplashBack grinning at her. She chuckled. "I'm in no hurry to be killed to day, Splash." The black and blue wolf nodded. "Nor am I, but if they don't kill me, the curiosity surly will! And they said it only killed cats!" SplashBack took a deep breath and pretended to look brave. with another chuckle Cantabella stood beside him and stared into the pandemonium of tails, paws, and body's. "One... two... THREE! Go!" Together the two leapt in between their friends and squirmed, wriggling desperately to find there way to the new comer. Finally though Cantabella found her way to a small opening around the new wolf. Shaking her pelt she turned-and stopped.
He was handsome, she gave him that. Ruggedly handsome. His brown pelt gleamed and was criss crossed with yellow stripes. He was stunning.
"We made it!" SplashBack gasped, leaping out of the fray. Cantabella blinked. "What? Oh, er, yes, we did." The strange wolf glanced at her, a cocky smile on his face. "Well 'ello! Two more doggies eh? Mustve met hundred already!" His voice had a hint of an Australian accent. His voice was smooth, alluring. Cantabella shook her head. Nonsense, stop thinking like that!
He brave companion was already introducing himself. "I'm SplashBack! Welcome to our home!" His tail waved excitedly. The new wolf nodded. "The names Dingo." He looked at Cantabella. "And who might you be?"
Her heart beat fast as she stared into his gold eyes, but she stayed calm as she coolly replied. "Cantabella." Dingo smiled. "Bit of an odd name isn't it? But it suits you, lovely." Cantabella frowned. Was he flirting with her so openly? But, as she watched him greet others she realized he was doing that to every girl in the room, putting on that charming smile, using that smooth voice. Well, that just about killed her crush, if she could have called it that. But, his eyes kept drifting over to her, she noticed. Why do I care? Hes just a flirty mutt. She resolutely turned her head.
"Well," Everyone quieted down as Dingo spoke. "Its been nice meeting ya, and since Ill be living here from now on, Ill meet the rest of ya later. I need some air. Anyone wanna come?" The dogs looked around and muttered among themselves. "Where to, laddie?" Jordie called out. Dingo grinned. "Well, I was thinking the city, go to the more run down part of town." There was a mummer of disapproval from the group. "Were not really supposed to go there." Someone spoke up. "Its not all that safe. Some of the people there really hate dogs, and would shoot us if they could." Others nodded. Dingo laughed. "I know. What the fun in doing something if there inst a little risk in it?"
Cantabella heard some of the more adventurous dogs nod. She frowned. They might get hurt if they went to that place! She glared at Dingo. That dog would be trouble, she knew it.
And yet... she still liked him.

When ugliness realizes that she is perfection, only tragedy can be weaved in. She was disrespection and awfulness and she fell in love with a dog created with beauty and courage. But all she loved was a icon, a disappearing figure, a ghost...


'You love me, don't you?' She tried to look into his eyes to find the truth in them but they kept on turning away from her.
'I... use too. I can't love you, I don't love you.' He murmured quietly.
'But why not? Is it because of her? Why Handsome? Why?' she kept questioning him softly as she was soon close to tears.
'You use to love me, what has made you turn away from me?' She asked again.
'I love you and always will. You loved a icon, you loved wind. I cannot be with you forever because I am not real.'
