Are Butterfly Wolves Wolf sized or butterfly sized?

I think of them as being the size of a medium or large dog, which isn't tiny but definitely smaller than a wolf. Like a golden retriever or maybe a bit bigger.

I’ve interpreted them as the size of medium dogs. I would love to hear Tess’s answer though!
Editing to add: and I interpret the caterpillars and cocoons as typical for their species.

Hmm. I genuinely feel like the more skilled ones can change their size as mature adults, depending on the situation.. but not bigger than a medium sized dog so they are still capable of flight, albeit slower and probably more clumsy. I always saw them as starting out small, able to comfortably fit in an eggcup to teacup.. but after a while learn how to become larger temporarily - either to intimidate larger animals or avoid being stepped on/injured by the unwary. Sort of how some fish can inflate themselves when annoyed, but with some sort of Fae magic? XD

(Okay serious answer — never really gave it that much thought, I think it could vary but a majority of them would be split into two camps, sprite-sized and wolf-sized)
