How Do You Organize Your Pets?

i have a few other groups
for hoards and nft pets
and also stores and lists.

I have two doubles/trade groups, and then the others are all organized by species, date, and if they are adult or PPS. For example my groups' formats are

- Bats [2010]
- Bats [2011]

- PPS Dogs [2017]
- PPS Dogs [2018]

If I have all pets of a certain species for a certain year, I will place a checkmark next to it. For example:
PPS Ponies [2017] ✓

+ All of mine are by year-end no matter the rarity or breed! I do have a separate section for Store pets though that follows the same rules!

I have most of my pets in a folder named stuff oops xD I organise them by what they mean to me, so I have seperate groups for dreamies, hoards and store pets

about a year ago I decided to go from individual species groups, labeled with their scientific names (Felidae, Equus, Canidae, etc) and just dumped them all into one giant "collection" group. besides the 45 pages of unsorted pets it already has 10,034 individual outcomes, no duplicates. which is just... excuse me but w h a t
so yeah besides the unsorted buildup in my ungrouped pets, I keep mostly like this:

i've gone through quite a few organisation methods myself, but as of last year i went all-out on the fae theming and named nearly every group as 'the court of (theme)'!
i've actually reorganised again since then and dropped the court names, but most of the themes are still intact, and i still focus on fae-inspired dressups c:

outside of that:
- a group for pets that are near and dear to my heart, which do not fit the theming of any other groups
- two groups for new adopts (one for monthlies, one for events)
- trade groups, easily expected
- a few unsorted groups (beyond the default one)
- and a group which is an eyesore - it's just a dumping ground for NFT items ^^;

mine are organised by species and event

except for older uncommons and rares
i just throw those into 1 group and hope for the best

i love organizing my pets so mine are set up like;

one pet for the first letter a
then my 'mischievous things' like trees, still growing and all trades
then my 'special' pets which is stuff like dressups, store pets and favorite designs
after that it's all organized by year but also by species,
except for hamsters and dragons where i just put then under the same category
(e.g. western dragons and eastern dragons both go under dragons)
under the year 2020 i have my hoards,
then my staff litters and lastly my gh litters.

every major category starts with a letter, following the alphabet,
and after that a second letter between a, b, c, d, e, h, k, p, q, s, v, x, y, z,
since those are the letters that actually line up with each other,
in case you are also trying to make it look good.
oh there is also dividers that states what category is next,
so it's not too confusing.

i sort by general species, then monthly swaps, then trades. all doubles go in trades.

I only keep pets I like so I mainly just have individual species groups, Two trades groups (one for uncommon and under and one for rares and above), a “monthly group” for pets still growing
the only other groups I really have are the yearly staff dogs, each year has its own group, I don’t hoard

I use different symbols in the beginning of the group name to keep them in order instead of using the a. b. c. or 1. 2. 3. Technique
