For me, it mostly depends on the markings. If they are pink and purple with hearts and swirls, I will probably consider it a girl. If it is black with rough markings, I call it a boy. I don't always decide genders. With a name like, "Lilly" or, "Thomas," the gender is obvious. If it is something like, "Lemonade," then it could be either and I don't feel the need to decide.

i dont really give pets genders but when im sending trades and stuff ( you know when you say stuff like, 'sorry hes not for trade' or 'shes worth way more than the pets you are offering') i just give genders depending on how they look to me, sometimes i change them accidently. some i just automatically think of as one gender, like my st pats dog, i automatically think of him as my boy Patrick.
