Honestly, I wish they would toss out this system all together. In the few trades I’ve had trying to get all the outcomes from a litter on the event swap thread, people are being difficult and it’s making the game more stressful than fun to play.
More often than not if someone sends me a trade with a pet I already have stating they need a certain outcome, I’m always willing to accept if I have a duplicate. This is not the case for so many players. I wish we had a culture to just be nice to people. I made a thread about this issue myself. I’m an old player and the game is so much less fun now because of this.

Damn I’m sorry you’re having such difficulty trading and getting pets specified! I’ve don’t really post on the forums I just browse them until I find a trade I want to make, it’s easier for me to choose. I’ve never had anyone really trade me for something I specified, it’s usually the other way around. They usually come up with a trade for something in my trade group which I either accept or deny.
I know not everyone can be traded who post on the forums pages, I just trade off my extras for any missed outcomes, I do not know if that makes a difference or not. I do agree that trading can be stressful when it feels like there a rare outcome that everyone is making the same post about. I will say I think is a caveat to any outcome based game that has trading involved, and I’ve played a few games like that. I do hope you find better luck and more generous players, I’ve been lucky for the most part.

I enjoy all sorts of animals, especially really colorful ones that make my brain tingle. I seek the mystical, fun, bright, species! I love red orange, fuchsia, purple, 🎆neon,🌈rainbow, and of course 🌌 galaxy aesthetics.
I’m slowly checking off my wishlist, and anyone is welcome to DM, as long as they’re respectful and kind. If I ever did hoard, I’ll do it ethically, and I’m willing to give up duplicates to help someone with their wishlist!

As someone who does trade in the way you're refering to, I'm kinda tired of seeing people complain about this every month. If I can hoard 8 of the purple amethyst snakes within an hour of trading, by trading uncommons and current outcomes, you can trade for 1 of them using the same method, It's not impossible. Just use the online users list and put a bit of time into it. Stop using the trade threads, they don't help at all and you wont find stuff on there that's less common.
I managed to make enough coins to get a UR flower dragon last year from the easter event alone. I've owned this account for just over a year and have countless valuable pets BECAUSE of this way of trading. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
Peace.

I have both overpaid for outcomes (PPS snakes, usually) and also gotten them via "normal" trades, both via the monthly trade thread. I do think it's just the luck of the draw, unfortunately. It's my own fault for overpaying in the first place for a pet that probably won't even be a VUC+, because I'm just encouraging the system.
Personally if I have monthly or event duplicates I'm always willing to swap/trade.

i know everyones sort of hashed it out by this point but i just wanted to make one last point if i can, particularly in regard to the people who dislike the 'complaining'
its important to remember that 1. not everyone who uses the site has lots of free time to spend searching, and 2. half the problem is not necessarily just that its hard to find pets but also that its harder to find people in general who are very open to trades in a more 'casual' and friendly manner. you should also remember that newer users often have little of higher value or dont understand values well yet, and many people cant or dont want to spend real money to get C$ for themselves. these all affect the availability of trades generally.
im coming at this as someone who actually has way too much free time and spends most of the day with CS open in my browser even if im not actively using it bc i like to pop on for the pound, check trades, & boost my trade thread quite often. even so, id say maybe 25-35% of my trades get cancelled outright when they could just be edited (i always tell people im happy to negotiate and theyre free to edit). many trades get cancelled without a message as well which makes it difficult to figure out what even went wrong, and in some cases you even get blocked for seemingly no reason, which is especially frustrating when it comes from someone who is otherwise a very active user with lots to trade for. im not saying all of this to 'complain', but to explain the perspective i think many people who have been 'complaining' are coming at this from.
no one is saying everything should just be 'made easy', i think its moreso, as has been said many times by others folks, that it would be nice to feel like trades are very accessible. again, as someone whos on most of the day rn, it took me several days of hunting to find anyone willing to trade the geode snake for something i was remotely willing to pay for and a lot of the people i saw trading it at all where asking for things that seemed far, far too much. assuming anyone having issues is just 'not searching right' is a bit ungenerous imo.
not directly related but there has also been a lot of botting in the pound and i have also received many unfair trade offers from folks who definitely know better, and was taken advantage of quite a lot when i first came back to the site. i think the point is just that it feels hostile, it feels too easy to get blocked for minor mistakes, it feels like the hobby is becoming a bit inaccessible if you DONT have a lot of time to dedicate to scouring for the right people at the right times.
sorry for the long post!! i just wanted to explain the pov again and i hope people can try and understand where the frustration in this topic is coming from rather than dismissing it =)
