peachy! wrote:BBkat wrote:peachy! wrote: loving the new dragons! it's such a unique concept and i'm totally smitten with it. it could have gone south really fast, but i think they were executed perfectly.
also, is the new ur in a series, perhaps? iirc, the new years dragons were supposed to symbolize the changes in the seasons throughout the year. is it safe to assume these dragons may be the same?
?
The UR, like every UR, is unconnected to anything.
And the dragons released today(which are not URs) seems to be a carp transforming into a dragon (likely inspired by the story of a carp that became a dragon)
thank you, but i know that the new dragons aren't urs and that they don't usually run in an actual series; i was just curious as to if they could be inspired by similar themes. that's all. i don't appreciate the tone of this message. /gen
i would still love an answer to this.
I have no idea what the answer is but I just wanna say I agree the message was a bit harsh

I don't think they meant anything by it though and it's a great question!!

Same! I loved the tranquil and magical vibe of that litter, AMD this one gives me hope for another one like that.
Defo hoping for some star dangles, too!

What kind of fish they are based on? Is it some symbol for Chinese Lunar New Year?
The whole litter basically represents a carp turning into a dragon.
According to tradition, a carp that could swim upstream and then leap the falls of the Yellow River at Dragon Gate (Longmen) would be transformed into a dragon

π this is correct! Sorry ive been so absent I haven't been able to comment on it yet (thank you Raire ππ)
I wanted the outcomes to start off more fishey and slowly turn less fishey and more dragoney but I ended up keeping some of the fish features on the final dragon in the end anyway π
(I consider them to be somewhat vestigial fins LOL)

Man, I'm glad I don't collect western dragons anymore, that crescent moon egg is ridiculously hard to trade for (without overpay, anyway). c':
