With the “heroic crown of sonnets” mention I’m going to guess that this pup is Lacuna’s.

27 flowers (as the dog in the post has) is too many. one, however..
what ultimately lead me on this path, was this response, where she says "think outside the pot." guess what is outside of the pot? the flower next to the pup!

so due to the wedding hints we've gotten the following would be true:

something old: possibly the lines from her 2015 pup? it has the same variation of ears and tail!
something new: the flower!
something borrowed: ?
something blue: the eyes (was confirmed on page 83)

This is not my pup! Just a friend. Rosethorn was the random name given to this adopt and I thought that was so cute since she’s a side character in one of Tamora Pierce’s book series and the flower in this outcome really fits her. She’s not the main character tho, lol. Really all you need from the something hint is the eyes; borrowed, new, and old are just such broad concepts that they can (and do) mean a lot of things. The hint you’re missing has to do with the fact that it’s my 10th staff dog and 15th wedding anniversary.

While I'm pretty sure they've said they wouldn't be confirming until their pup is full-grown, i wanted to throw my hat in anyways.


I believe the above pup is Saikiyo's. They have given a few hints that this pup fits.

Clean and simple aesthetic

Simple Bi-Colored dog, clear separation between those colors. only extra is simple collar

Extra "me" flavored

similar to previous pets, especially the mouth shape. color of line art is changed to match the palette of the pet.

these previous staff pets have a similar mouth, muzzle marking, and the same eyebrow spots.

No personal meaning, but may be inspired by recently played game

I think the game in question could be Hades, the game features Cerberus, who in game has a red coat (dark pink on the pup), pointed ears,pale eyes, green noses and wearing collars.

Saikiyo has said that they named their pup Cerbi, which could come from or be inspired by the name Cerberus. The name Cerberus also means spot and the pup i suspect also has some subtle spots on their shoulder and haunch.

10/10 on how easy to guess the creator

many others have guessed this pup so it would affirm this particular hint

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…

Celebrating 10 years of my staff dogs and 15 years with my wife (our 10 year wedding anniversary)! The puppy had 5 hearts (the fifth is on the chest) one for each year before we got married, and now she has 15, gaining one for each year. The puppy also has the nose coloration and spots on the chest from my first dog. As you can see, the adult has design elements from all of my previous dogs! Can you spot them all? I also used my personal favorite lineart (curly tail) and something I’ve not used before (the original flop ear lines are the base for the hair).

Characteristics from previous dogs (reverse chronological):
2022: freckles, gradient, and flower
2021: tail stripes and dots plus the tiger stripes on the hindquarters
2020: moon and dot on forehead
2019: there are a few straight lines on the hindquarters (i could be wrong though)
2018: splotches on shoulder, paw stripes, and the flower
2017: nose shape
2016: gradient...? this one is very difficult
2015: yellow forearm markings (kinda stripey)
2014 was already given to us

I probably missed a few and I'm excited to see what else is found (and hopefully a reveal later on).

Edit (1): catmother pointed out that the lines on the back are likely from the 2016 pup and the ring from the 2017 pup
Edit (2): Lacuna has shared that the infinity symbol is new and does not come from any of her prior pups

Happy 10 years of staff dogs and 15 years of you and your wife, Liddi 💖 I was around to collect and see all 10 of your staff dogs grow! I still remember the day your very first staff dog grew from the second stage and became the horned PPS we all know and love! I still love Aries a lot

I think I'm able to see all elements of your previous staff dogs. Here goes:

- The chest spots from the 2014 dog
- The front leg "flare" markings from 2015
- The thin back stripes from 2016
- The crescent-shaped nose and the ring from 2017
- The splotches and ankle stripes from 2018
- The hind geometric markings from 2019
- The moon and the dot on the face from 2020
- The tiger-like stripes on the hind legs and the dots/stripes on the tail from 2021
- The freckles on the face, belly, and feet from 2022
