I have to say, as much as I love the designs this year, I am a little disappointed in how many PPS designs there are. There’s a few I would have loved to have seen on the adult lines, but they’re still super pretty.

I usually prefer the pps. I was kinda dreading the lynx growing because I liked the middle stage so much xD I love the pps. I didn't realize how many were pps until it was pointed out. Just have to remember this is the one time artists have the most freedom (besides palette) to make a pet they also like and to their personal taste and style. c:

I'm trying to picture Urbina on the adult lines now and it just... doesn't work that well. The floof just needs to hang down.
Sometimes there are just design choices which makes us pick between adult and PPS stage.
How good that the staff litter usually has something for everyone :3

I did some math on the PPS ratio in the staff litters over the years. Just because I wanted to.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong somewhere :P

2009 = 0 out of 11 = 0%
2010 = 1 out of 13 = 7,7%
2011 = 1 out of 18 = 5,6%
2012 = 1 out of 23 = 4,3%
2013 = 0 out of 32 = 0%
2014 = 3 out of 28 = 10,7%
2015 = 1 out of 27 = 3,7%
2016 = 2 out of 30 = 6,7%
2017 = 0 out of 27 = 0%
2018 = 6 out of 32 = 18,8%
2019 = 6 out of 28 = 21,4%
2020 = 6 out of 33 with 6 still growing. So far 22,2% of all full grown staff pups are PPS but this will of course change as the rest grows up.

So.. It looks like PPS staff pups were pretty uncommon back in the day but has been a bit of a trend in the last couple of years.
I personally don't mind it either way. I like the staff pups with or without PPS :)

I kind of wanted to see the lynx in the adult lines honestly. I feel like it would’ve looked really cool that way. But it’s nice the way it is too.

I'd already done an adult cetacean, and size-wise... Rian is about 4.5-5' long, compared to Munin's 21'+. It makes more sense, lol.
I do prefer to use the adult lines for the staff litter, but if it makes more sense to stop at the pup lines, I'm not going to argue with the art and end up with an outcome I don't like. ^^;

Yeah, you shouldn't have to feel like you have to argue you with it either. The only way I could see your baby working on "adult lines" would be doing extreme line edits like these doggos - but at that point its like its own lines and not really the adult dog lines.



Which even if you did that you would have had to have argued with the neck probably being too vertical. I feel like the main thing I think of when I think adult lines is the head. So I think pps worked best for yours 💜

Its most important that the artist is happy with their outcome and use the lines and style they want, that's why staff dogs are so special. (:

I think both outcomes fit the lines you used perfectly. Munin is gorgeous as an adult, and I am so happy Rian is a cute little pps. ❤️

Such a pretty outcome. I love the eyes and the bird friend so much! I’m thinking this may be meveh’s outcome. The glowing eyes like that of a night light, the bird friend, it’s a pps, lynx do well in the winter and are mysterious and quiet, has pointy ears, and the color of the eyes and bird reminds me of amber, too.

Why do I still have 3 newborn staff pups? I am so confused lol

This question has been asked and answered about 100 times already.
It's not unusual for staff liters, it only means the pet will either be a PPS or just just to the full grown stage.
Once staff pets start hitting PPS & full grown, only one dog grows per day.

I'm sorry I get annoying. I don't check up on this thread as much. But I appreciate you letting me know.
How many days will it be till they are grown?
