Switching to Yugi:

I believe this is Yugi's pet.



Why?
I just noticed he has A little crab friend by his back foot, linking him with the ocean/water.

Also it has that wyrm monster vibe.
If you look at several wyrm monsters (mentioned in the card) they sort of carry the same vibe. Not to mention the word dragon apperaing at the top of the clue card, and this little pet has a horn.

Catmom and I have been working on a theory!
Guessing this pup:



As Yugi's.

Yugi has made quite a few references to water. Both the yugioh cards mention an ocean or waterfall. The song in their sig mentions waterfalls as well. On top of all that, Yugi has made comments such as, "keep yourselves afloat!", "you've all made leaps and bounds when it comes to deciphering the waterfall of hints the staff has left for you this month!", "Hopefully things will become crystal clear as calm waters soon~".

This pup has a few qualities that imply it's water related. The crab shows that if not in the water, the pup is at least near water. The markings on its face also look very much like scales. Of course, it has quite a few features that make it look like it's got nothing to do with water, but I think that will change.

Yugi also made this comment: "my dog has obstacles to overcome before they can reach their desired goal too!"

I'm thinking maybe the obstacle is that the pup can't swim or live in the water yet and that might change.

Yugi also stated, "Time for me to stop being my usual super shy turtle self and climb outta my shell, huh? x)"

The turtle comment could be a more general water hint (or something we're missing yet) but the could reference the crab as well. They're both aquatic/semiaquatic creatures and they both have shells of sorts.

Catmom and I also looked through yugioh cards to see if there were any that seemed to relate to the pup/hints but didn't find any that particularly stood out to us.

We also briefly discussed this pet of my namesake being another hint since it technically has another water reference and was one of few pets named, but we weren't sure whether it was just a coincidence and yugi had gotten it with that name.

Another superb try at linking together everything, but unfortunately that's not my pup either! I will say that you all are getting very, very, very close to piecing together everything though, and I'm glad that my water based hints have conveyed a strong enough message to give you all a general vibe for my staff outcome ^u^


New Hint
Hopefully this doesn't give away too much, but I do want to encourage there to be more focus on the song Obstacles by Syd Matters, especially the lyrics present in it. [size=was 50]Additionally, someone close to my heart has dropped another hint to possibly help you all out <3[/size]



As for that pet, they're not a clue unfortunately! I believe I was gifted them with that name already given to them, but it's quite an excellent name to say the least x)c

Is this your pet @Yugi? Ever since I saw it, I think of a koi fish, and...

The Japanese saying “koi no taki-nobori” (“koi climbing the rapids”) reflects this too, in the belief that the carp is a spirited fish, so strong that it can fight its way up waterfalls, and through its strength and determination overcome all obstacles.

So......I'm gonna take a guess about Yugi's pup:

Why?

Because it has it's eyes shut, possibly realating to "We played hide and seek" and "Someday we will foresee obstacles" lyrics in the song: Obstacles which is linked in Yugi's sig

Also it has white blotchy patterns that remind me of snow and another of the lyrics is "Through the blizzard, through the blizzard" which blizzards are a snow storm

And also this pup's shade goes from light to dark, maybe referring to the zones of the ocean (as it seems it has something to do with the ocean)

It's real vague but I gave it a shot, hope this helps!

After listening to the song, is this one your pup?

Any reasons why?
Come on, I won't claim/deny with just this

The pup looks like it has stars on its back. The red/orange stripe and the white base color could be the fire/ice reference. Maroon is not the main color of this puppy. The pup's nose could gain another color when it grows up. This puppy doesn't currently have line edits, like the second stage of your other two staff dogs and the design isn't overly complicated. Pup's eyes could be purple, but we don't know because they're currently closed, and could open once it's grown up

Gonna support Wolven Girl in my guess that this is Raire's pup; if you tilt your head the body design kind of looks like an asteroid field (stars), this pup is asleep. Now with the past designs raire has been simple with pups; no obvious edits on the pup stage of things as WG stated and though Raire has used long tail and pointed ears in the last two years, changing it up this year could throw us off. This is also mainly the reason I ruled out the double tail pup. But yeah, support for this guess

From what I've got from Zeena's hints:

In interests there is these numbers: 1702****

on page 69 zeena says this:

"Oooh looks like someone found the beginning of my hint. c:"

and then there is invisible text that is: "The rest of the numbers will be spread out in the near future, so keep your eyes open <3"

So every new post Zeena makes, I've been highlighting for invisible text and here's what I've found:

On page 101 on this post: "Hmmm any guesses for me so far? c:
I'll answer a question or two about my pup. ^^" and there is invisible text that is: 8

So far the number is 17028****

and then today on page 150 zeena says: "If anyone would like to suggest a pup with a bit of reasoning, I'll deny at least one. c:" and there is invisible text that is: 17

So now we have: 1702817*

So that means we are either waiting for two numbers or a double digit number, so detectives can you help?

EDIT:

There's actually just one digit left ^.^' I misscounted

Don't have a lot of time to check on this further but the 17028 numbers start around May 2015, Zeena has no rats in her rat group, and the rat litter has the leopard prints.. so it might be the leopard print pup, that's hers but because they're noticeably absent I feel like it might not be.

The cats are the cave painting ones, so the colour by number pup could be another contender But of course that one turned out to be Schuyler's awesome pup

maybe she'll decline one of these two options anyhow and we can continue tracking down the clues

edit, I'm wondering if it's Tiger Pup now, based on two of the pets two pets Rain. tracked down as well - I wasn't sure if that actually got denied earlier in the thread when Kryative Lotus suggested it

There's quite a few more hints that I've left behind that haven't seem to have been recorded on the document yet, though your thinking is currently on the right track. Perhaps taking a step back and focusing on a bigger picture might help too!

Now for my quess and why...

The "someone close to my heart" hint yugi dropped got me.
Yugi's signature has a heart in it, if you click on it, it brings you to another profile. Click on the triangle in their sig and its this image leading me to believe full heartadly that this pet has to do with koi fish.

Which explains this picture (the fish) and this picture (the waterfall,) and if you look at koi pond they tend to have something like this. which explains the lyrics "We played hide and seek in waterfalls
We were younger, we were younger
We played hide and seek in waterfalls
We were younger, we were younger" in the song. Koi hide under those waterfall things.

This leads me to only have one pet that could be yugi's.
And its this one. The koi fish pet. ^^
