I know, 6 years may sound long but I've been learning English for 9 years so when I compare these two, it's not as long anymore. Why only 2 years?
I didn't have a choice in my elementary when it comes to languages. English from 1st year of school as first foreign language and Italian from 4th year as only option for a second one. But now I'm happy that I decided to take it. Now I'm in 1st year of high school which has tons of foreign languages (English, German, Hungarian, Japanese, French...) but no Italian. Luckily, my Italian teacher from elementary runs conversation course for us who wish to continue with learning.Have to get up at 7 am every Saturday, but it's worth it. We always have a lot of fun, we're always laughing and talking about interesting subjects.
My mum learned French too. That didn't work very well.CasinoRoyale wrote: I refuse to learn French, my mum did it for 6 years and hated it. She tried teaching me it and I ran away screaming.

Oh, and I guess it was logical that there was only Italian for 2nd foreign language because Croatia is next to Italy. Still, who knows what would I pick if I had more choices.
Nessie wrote:Yes, I live in the capital, Zagreb. *proud*Italian pronounciation is same as in Croatian (the biggest problem for you will probably be the letter R because it's much softer in English, but it's the same in Croatian).
And if you want, I can learn you a bit of Croatian, but it's very dificult for foreigners to learn it.The grammar is sooooo complicated. Most of Croatian people hate it(me included
). Plus, Croatian has some specific letters like č,ć,š,ž,đ.
