Anyone learning Japanese?

Ok, since i don't want to wait for manga to be translated, i want to learn Japanese.

If any person on here is Japanese / Knows Japanese / learning Japanese, it would be great if you could share tips.

So yeah..


I just realised this is kinda like a study group...

Hello! I've studied japanese for a year at university. I recommend the genki books.

I have a Bachelor's in Japan Studies, interned and studied abroad in Japan for over half a year. Second the heck out of Genki. It can be a little pricey but it's probably the easiest textbook to study with out of all the ones I've seen. Also this workbook is pretty nice. It introduces you to kanji and how to break down kanji piece by piece.

How far are you in studies? Do you have access to a class through community college or online? Personally I find physical classrooms much better to learn in but it's up to your learning style.
