hello, i speak Italian, although i'm a little rusty. i live in England, and there aren't many Italian speakers I know >~< as for family customs, my siblings and my dad are named after our grandparents, apart from my sister. i can't really think of much for customs, apart from many of my relatives are catholic, or at least baptised, though i don't know if that is a custom

Yea, Mio padre era un cattolico , e lui mi aveva battezzato . Ma mia madre è pagana e ho scelto che, per essere il mio religion. So yea its weird and family gatherings when we say grace especially if I say a pagan one cx

Ciao! Io sono italiana al 100% e vivo tuttora in Italia con la mia famiglia di mangia-pasta ahah
I'm 100% Italian, and I still live there, together with my family of pasta-eaters ahah!
(No, really, it's quite a stereotype, but we eat pasta pretty much every day!)
And as Unika2 already said, "ippopotamo" is the word for "hippopotamus", quite similar! (And I still wonder why "platypus" is "ornitorinco" in Italian...)

Yea, the only problem is I can't pronounce either of the words Cx. I never lived in Italy or Europe..Sono 70 % italiano. Anche se è stato adottato a mio padre , ha trovato i suoi genitori biologici in Europa .
