okay so i won't lie kpop totally sparked my interest in learning korean; tonight i've been teaching myself hangul and it's surprisingly easy?
however i'm a bit confused, what purpose does ㅇserve at the beginning of a word or syllable since it's silent? it's stumping me a little bit since it just kind of seems to be thrown in at random at times ahaha
edit;;
WAIT OK so since i posted this i think ive figured it out?? you use ㅇ when you begin the word or syllable with a vowel, right?
since for 안녕하세요, 안 and 요 are the only syllables that start with ㅇand a vowel
i cant believe how easy hangul is ahh
sorry for such a dumb question lmAO i havent started into grammar or vocabulary lessons yet,,

It's okay to have questions. No one can know all. ^-^
You're right.
ㅇ sounds nothing when it comes front.
But when it comes last, it sounds [ng], for examples, 녕[nyeong].
I'm pretty sure that Hangul is easy.
But, Korean is hard to learn, especially grammar.
Good luck to your study!

그래 그때 나는 잘 몰랐었어
우린 다른 점만 닮았고
철이 들어 먼저 떨어져 버린
너와 이젠 나도 닮았네
젊은 우리, 나이테는 잘 보이지 않고
찬란한 빛에 눈이 멀어 꺼져가는데
