they use a different alphabet, i think it's called cryllic (correct me if i'm wrong) so unless they have cryllic keyboard, they can't type in Russian.

Okay this may sound like a weird question but... when people here you from Canada do they sometimes ask you about Canadian bacon? Because my friend moved here from Canada and people ask her about Canadian bacon ALLL the time haha

It's called "Cyrillic/Кириллица".
Erm, I think they can write Russian words with Roman alphabet (of course if they know it), russian people can understand it clearly. For example, english word "fox" is "лиса" in Russian, so they can just write it like "lisa"
