french term help?

Postby Tracks J » Mon Dec 14, 2009 2:11 pm

I have come across something I do not understand in my french book report assignment guidelines: "lettre doux". I am pretty sure it means "love letter", but i'm just making sure...

thanks ^^
Dreaming, I was only dreaming
of another place and time where my family's from
Singing, I can hear them singing when the rain had washed away all these scattered dreams
Dying, everyone's reminded
hearts are washed in misery, drenched in gasoline
Laughter, there is no more laughter
songs of yesterday now live in the underground

En français on dit :
- Ecrire un "mot doux" ou un "billet doux" à quelqu'un.

In the context, yes is a love letter.
Who write "lettre doux" ? xD I never see that in French ...
"lettre" is feminine, so lettre douce is correct grammatically but not employed.

I see you're in France; my teacher was talking about something the other day, how the french in France is different from the french in let's say here in Quebec. ;)
