There are tons of possibilities!
Monopoly-city area
Chessboard-Victorian area with fancy folk
Snakes and Ladders-self explanatory
Battleship-steampunk/boat area
Twister-not a board game but would make a great dance floor
Ticket to Ride-train station is the hub that connects all the other areas
and of course...
Clue-A mysterious mansion that hides who/what the cause of the games coming to life is

YES YES AND MORE YES PLEASE DO BOTH MAKE IT A BOARDGAME EVENT!!

How about a magical train ride? The event takes place in separate “carts” of the train where we could interact with them.
Except with a twist… somebody goes missing and it becomes a murder mystery! (Okay all jokes aside a mystery would be really cool though.) They could also reach their destination near the end of the event or something.

im rocking with @o n d i n e's idea of cowboys... that would be awesome. great for aesthetics, think a lot of great items could come from it. maybe following like rival groups? possibly law enforcement vs thieves? not sure. i also dig @lepid's idea about the train ride- something goes missing and must be found and returned, maybe put back together?

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I kind of like when the events don’t try and tackle a TON of different themes in one go. I feel like we get better quality items and designs when each event is only focused on one simple thing: mythology from just one place, cowboys, space, etc.
That being said, I really would love Ancient Greece or Rome, more magical designs, and plant items.

Zailune wrote:I have an idea ^^ I'll keep it fairly vague, because I figure there's a lot of room for experimenting with this sorta storyline in itself
Science Lab / Monster Mystery
Intro:
CS-ians uncover the route to a mysterious hidden lab, where dedicated scientists work tirelessly (along with their 'creations') to expand the capabilities of the lab, find answers to bizarre happenings and push their way to a more advanced future.
However, there's more to the lab than meets the eye, and it's up to the CS-ian visitors to uncover the secrets beneath the surface of it all.
Potential pet themes for this event:
- homunculus pets, mad scientists, mutants, mostly-normal-but-partly-wild, chimeras
- potion pets/alchemy pets
- odd herb/fungi/alien plant pets
- assistant pets
- portal pets
Potential item themes for this event:
- Lots of room for creatures and plushies! lil monsters, assistant monsters, species hybrids
- mysterious tools, inventions, gadgets
- some "what are these even for" items
- some futuristic robotics items / jet packs, attachments, robot friends, tech-y goggles
- warning, danger, stay away, etc. signs and stickers
( I think it's really fun when CS experiments with new ideas for these sorts of events, like when mini games were added in some cases, so additionally: )Potential new event features:- there could be an original species of sorts thrown in where the players' input determines some aspects of said species, possibly a contest prior to the event opening or a vote
- "The waste bin" every 3 days you can visit the waste bin and get a random 'failed experiment' or mutant pet to take home
- Assisting the scientists ~ puzzle games that reward you with 'parts' to trade in (with a cooldown on the rewards though ofc, or a limited number of puzzles to complete)
- Fun-Fact-Machine ~ pulling the lever causes the machine to share a random interesting fact
- Additional machines that have neat results like that^
Regardless of what y'all go with, I'm sure it'll be great - best of luck!
probably the best one i saw yet- that'd be
so much better than camping! so cool. also chimeras. i love chimeras. they are one of the best mythical creatures out there and there is NO changing my mind.

I don't know if it was already mentioned, but I think something between hiking and traveling in medival times would be interesting.
Like you have a specific path before you and you travel by horse or foot. You could stumble across NPCs with small sidequests, like someone with an injured leg and you need to collect sticks and herbs to aid it, so you can take this person to the next stop (like a village or just a small food stall at a highly traveled part of your path) You could need to collect mushrooms, berries and other edibles, eat around a fire camp. Slowly growing your traveling party and getting to know each other more and more while enjoing the woods and the travel itself
I always loved the traveling parts in books and stories. Just the adventure, the nature and all the sights to see and the people to meet. When I was young, I was hiking a lot. We had hiking holidays with my grandparents and sometimes my mother would join us as well if she could get of off work. Later I had a friend were we were hiking together each sunday. Just no destination, no timeline, no expectations. Just us, our feet that carried us, a sandwich and water in our backpacks and the paths we chose to walk on just a hunch/a feeling. We often had no idea where we even were, but somehow we always found our way back home. One time we endet up in the far outskirts of the city, though it was just a 20 minute walk to get back to the main area of our city.
(sorry if it sounds a bit weird/is written weirdly. English isn't my native language and it's already 1am)
Ps I saw somehow mentioning sakura season in japan. I always loved this aesthetic and would love to see all the designs that could be based off of it ^^
