Yes trading is the main option for getting older pets generally.
As for the Lost and Found it only offers items however the Pound does offer pets whenever it's open, both change day to day so keep an eye out.

Have you helped anyone before anywhere on CS? If so, please link to the post/s: I've helped a few friends join CS/get back on their feet, but nothing onsite.
Why should you be allowed to adopt a newbie?: When I joined in 2016, I didn't have much help with anything because I didn't know where to find help. I was super intimidated and ended up getting scammed a few times, and it would've been super helpful to have something like this when I joined. I like helping people, and I try my best to gift and help any new person I come across on site anyways, so now that I've found this and have the option to do so more I'd like to take it!
How often do you get on CS, and how long are you typically online on these days?: I always have the site open and check it frequently everyday, and have email notifs on for messages and trades, so even on days that I'm not online frequently I'm still available.
Did you read and understand all of the Adopter information?: Mhm !!
Do you agree to be helpful and polite to your newbie at all times?: Of course!

hi ! so i’m not a newbie but i am in terms of what i know. i’ve left off and on, and struggle with a lot of things but feel too embarrassed to reach out.

What do you like best so far?: I haven't been able to understand much, but what I do like is the creativity behind the site. Its colorful! Bright and eccentric.

How did you find Chicken Smoothie?: I actually was super active on here around 2012-2015ish, and for various reasons, I want to get back into it. Unfortunately I've had to make a whole new account, as I don't remember any of my old details. Plus it's been something like five years, so I'm super unfamiliar with how the site environment/culture may have changed since I was last here, which is why I'm posting.
What do you like best so far?: I spent a lot of time in rp forums and have fond memories of those I suppose. I just enjoyed chatting and getting to know people generally.

Why should you be allowed to adopt a newbie?:I feel like i know a lot about chicken smoothie and can help newer players navigate the site. i also already have experience doing this, because i helped my friend who joined a few weeks ago learn how to play cs. since i helped her, and she now completely understands the game, i feel like i could do the same to someone else. i also have four years of playing experience and know the site quite well. Another reason would be that i love helping people, it would make me so happy if i could help a new player get used to this site so they can really enjoy it. i also love to see the cs community grow, so i would love to be a part of that!

Edit: i was just looking over my application, and just remembered, i also helped my younger brother get to know the site. just like my friend he also now knows the site very well because i’ve helped and taught him! <3
How often do you get on CS, and how long are you typically online on these days?: i get on cs everyday. i’m currently on summer break from school, so starting on the 23rd i won’t be as active. but still active for a few minutes throughout the days (typically every hour or so). later after i get back from school i will be on for multiple hours.
