I'm not a good advice giver, but like Kaylen said, be sure to adopt as many pets as you can of each month to be able to have a higher chance of getting something rarer :3 Visit the forums, make friends, trade, do whatever you want (as long as its not against the rules x'D) And welcome to CS~
