I would love to see the old designs on the new lines, but as new releases not replacements for the old ones. That way those who like the new lines better can collect the new ones while those who like the old one better can collect those. It would also be cool to be able to collect both versions of the same design, like you can when a design is put on a different species.

I think if the lines are changed though that it would be nice to have a separate archive, maybe on a wiki or something, where you could go to see the old lines. Even having images like in the examples where it shows both the old and new lines next to each other would be nice (not overlapping).

I like the new lines and the idea of being able to use the items on any horse you want, but I like the uniqueness of the old lines too and I wouldn't want to see them be completely gotten rid of.

To me, changing the lines would be like just throwing out the older horses and continuing on with just the new ones. In other words CS wouldn't have old horses anymore, just old designs and I'm not interested in that.

no, i've changed my mind. I just don't think you can capture the cutness of this on this. the draft lines are lovely, i must admit, but i don't think it's worth losing the old lines - even though i've never been a big fan of the older horse and pony lines - i don't think it would be worth losing a part of cs history.

Maybe there can be a shop where you can "trade in" your horses? Some sort of button where you can decide to have to old lineart or the new? You'd have the same pet ID number you'd just be deciding on what art to use.

Honestly, I like the idea of being able to use items universally on horses, but some like the RBM and Buckskin PPS are kind of iconic. It would be like updating the CS dog lineart.

I like this idea much better. A shop where you can choose to transfer back and forth between the two versions, so you can choose which ones you want to change. That way, people that like the idea can change all their horses, those who don't can choose not to, or those that only would like to see some change could pick and choose.

I would also like the option of being able to change your pets into their old linearts, but sadly, I'm not sure how that would be done. Also, KittenMittens has a point.. x]

I notice that a lot of people are saying "No, because I love this one PPS" or "No, because I love this one version of one of the pony stages" etc.

Please consider your feelings about ALL of the horses and ponies. Having one of your favorite's changed might be worth it for the change to hundreds of others that you currently feel ambivalent about.

Well no, because the change wouldn't be permanent. In the shop, you could change back and forth. So both versions would be available to everyone.

I have to say this.
I do love the old lines.I have one of the poines from the very first set on CS and I love the forelock over the eyes.The old lines had more life in them,the PPS's were cuter.
I'm not disrespecting Yulyhn's lines,the current liens fit the new designs perfectly,but I just don't think it's a good idea.It's a art of the CS history and I'd feel like I'd lose that special connection I ahve with all those old lines.
When i was new,all I wanted was an old line horse.I think it's a nice think for newbies to aim for,having a retired lineart is great!
So I think we should stay the same,even with all the different horse liens because it's just the right thing to do in my opinion.
(BTW though,the new draft lines are cute ,but I still love the old ones xd)

In this scenario, if it was freely available to change between versions then the pet should hold the same value in any trade since people would know they could have it look how they wanted it to look

This is a great idea. Looking at the poll, the number of people for and against is too close to just take the slightly bigger number and give them what they want. It would be great if both sides could get their way, and this seems like an excellent way to do it.
